What a night for Dub Nation! The Warriors faced the mighty Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chase Center on Wednesday, and it wasn’t supposed to be easy. But guess what? Stephen Curry and Co. defied the odds. Trailing by 14 points to the West’s top seed in the first quarter, they hit the gas. And wow, what a turnaround! It was like witnessing the dynasty in full swing again. However, not all was smooth sailing for the Dubs. Enter Dennis Schroder, who once again let the squad down.

Right before joining the Warriors squad to play alongside Steph Curry, Schroder was averaging nearly 20 points per game. But since his days in the Bay Area began, a massive drop in his performance became visible. He continues to have an impressive 42 FG%, but when it comes to average points, it’s only 14.2 ppg. That’s very uncharacteristic of the German point guard. However, Stephen Curry has faith in his new teammate. Speaking to the media after his 21-point game vs. the Thunder, Curry shared his thoughts on the whole Dennis Schroder situation they are dealing with.

“How are you seeing the backcourt behind you evolve right now? With Dennis maybe getting a little bit more comfortable. Brandin coming back from injury and playing well,” One of the reporters asked Curry in the post-game presser.

“We haven’t had a good run with everybody in that rotation,” Stephen Curry reminded the audience. “We played 11 guys tonight and you still don’t have Draymond, JK, and Trayce has been playing well at the five…The backcourt like as long as we’re playing with energy, I think it’s been it will develop chemistry.”  Draymond Green has been away from the games due to his calf injury and Jonathan Kuminga’s ankle sprain has kept him away from action as well.

But with Schroder, “That’s probably me and Dennis’ best game together. You know, working off of each other. Being organized on the offensive end and getting to the sets could help us close a game like that. So, we’re still feeling it out. I think we have another level to get to.” The team has yet to find its symbiosis with the 31-year-old German guard. However, Steph is already adapting to his teammate’s style. They’re putting up good results on the offensive end. Meanwhile, Schroder is showing his sparks whenever he’s getting the opportunity. Undoubtedly, the style of the game Brooklyn played is different from what Dennis is playing with the Warriors.

“It’s a different system,” Curry emphasized. He further explained: “[Schroder] was playing at such a high level and they had such a unique team in Brooklyn. A lot of space, and a lot of athleticism at the wing. We played small at times and he had a lot of room to drive and play-make. He was shooting the ball at a high level and then you put him in our system where there’s a lot of more ball movement.” Therefore: “It takes a while to get used to that.”

What’s your perspective on:

Can Dennis Schroder bounce back and prove his worth alongside Curry, or is a trade inevitable?

Have an interesting take?

Dennis Schroder has been a proven force on the court for the teams he’s been on. And it’s only a matter of time before his slump ends. He scored 6 points on Wednesday against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander & team. But, the speck of hope isn’t dimming anytime soon. The Warriors’ $13 million will surely bounce back, and Stephen Curry is keeping his faith in Schroder.

Meanwhile, the trade deadline is approaching soon and there is a faint chance that the Warriors are looking for a big move Perhaps, a $43 million deal is looming at large?

Warriors are interested in making a trade move for one of the Bulls

The Golden State Warriors are eyeing trade options ahead of the February 6 deadline. Zach LaVine and Jimmy Butler are both on the radar. However, the Chicago Bulls’ $43 million star is turning more heads within the franchise. Why?

Well, he’s nearly six years younger than Butler, earns six million less this season, and seems like a better fit for the team’s style. Sure, his contract runs longer, and there are concerns about his injury history. But LaVine is having a standout season. Averaging 24.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 34.1 minutes per game over 42 matches. He might be the force Stephen Curry and the Warriors are looking for, who knows?

They seemed out of the running for Jimmy Butler, but a drop in his trade price has reignited interest. Last month, there was no real push to land him, but now, things are shifting. Management is keen to improve the roster, even willing to part with their 2025 first-round pick to climb out of the lottery. However, they’re treading carefully—no one wants to mess with the team’s chemistry, especially if it means moving players like Andrew Wiggins, Gary Payton II, or Kevon Looney.

So, the Warriors are in a bit of a balancing act. On one side, Dennis Schroder’s adjustment to the system is still a work in progress, but Steph Curry has faith it’ll click. On the other, the trade deadline looms, and with LaVine and Butler on the radar, Golden State is keeping its options open. The potential for a big move is there, but it’s all about timing. Will they shake up the roster or trust the chemistry they’ve built? Only time will tell.
