Did Anthony Edwards just prove he's more versatile than Stephen Curry?

Anthony Edwards may have walked into fresh trouble because of his past deeds. While Team USA basketball gears up for their upcoming Paris Olympic challenge, the Minnesota Timberwolves rising superstar may have to prove himself on a different court. If someone needs to be thanked for setting this up for the 22-year-old, it’s Stephen Curry. However, the Golden State Warrior superstar’s efforts to get the better of Edwards didn’t seem to work well.

During the Olympic opening ceremony, Ant-Man had an unusual encounter with the USA’s women’s Table Tennis team in the middle of the Seine. Steph, who acted as a middleman, set up a ping-pong challenge for Edwards. The Wolves star, who was confident as usual, said, “I got some people, they gonna beat me in ping-pong 21-0. I don’t believe it. 11-0, I’m scoring one point.”

In response, one of the players said, I mean, there’s one way, let’s try it out.” And, right when everyone felt that the Wolves guard had gotten into trouble, Ant-Man accepted the challenge, saying, “Okay. How? When’re we gonna do that? Whenever.”

To be honest, the NBA world saw this coming from a mile away. Anthony Edwards can be chirpy at times. Notably, it’s not just on the court, but also off the court. Especially during the interviews. Not a lot of fans forget when Edwards claimed that he can dominate any sport.

It was 2020, Ant-Man‘s rookie season, way before he was compared to Michael Jordan, and the rising star made an adamant claim in an interview. When he claimed to be great at baseball, the interviewer listed the games like ping-pong, baseball, football, and basketball that he claimed to be great at. However, Edwards hit back with a bang. The then-rookie continued, “Tennis, swimming, Lacrosse I’m gonna go do it if it’s some money on the line.” Hilariously, the star was even ready for a cooking challenge.

The time when Anthony Edwards challenged his own teammates

What’s your perspective on:

Did Anthony Edwards just prove he's more versatile than Stephen Curry?

Have an interesting take?

One may argue that it was a rookie who was overconfident. But, four years down the lane, nothing seemed to have changed. Being the youngest on the Team USA roster, Anthony Edwards challenged his veterans to a swimming challenge ahead of their trip to Paris. In an interview, speaking about his excitement at the swimming competition in the Olympics, he claimed to beat his teammates on the water.

The Wolves star said, “They ain’t no swimmers… You got Joel Embiid, you got [Anthony Davis] and Bam. They ain’t swimming fast. LeBron, he ain’t swimming fast. KD, Kawhi, Tatum, they’re not swimming fast at all.”

However, he definitely has a challenge beating a few others. Edwards continued, “So my only challengers are [Devin Booker] when he might not know how to swim. Jrue [Holiday], he might drown. And [Tyrese] Haliburton, oh my God. If Haliburton beat me, then I just need to never touch the water again.”

Days after this adamant claim, Stephen Curry found a perfect way to humble the youngster, setting up a ping-pong challenge against professionals. Will Ant-Man win the challenge? Let us know in the comments below.
