The Golden State Warriors went big on Tuesday night, catching fire late to grab a win against the New York Knicks. The Dubs completed impressive back-to-back wins, overcoming Saturday’s disappointing loss. At Madison Square Garden, Stephen Curry did what he does best—put on a show. But amid his electric performance, there was a split-second hesitation that left even Draymond Green amused.
Curry scored a solid 28 points along with nine assists shooting 55.6 percent from the three, taking his personal record at the Garden to 12-1. Beyond his stellar performance, one small but intriguing moment stole the spotlight. During the fourth quarter, with around 1:30 remaining on the clock, Curry hit one of his special clutch three-pointers extending the Warriors’ lead to 108-97. But what followed was an unexpected moment that had fans buzzing.
After hitting the three, Curry ran back toward the Dubs half with a smile on his face. He faced a wholesome dilemma, about whether to hit his trademark ‘night-night’ celebration or not. The 36-year-old seemingly said, “Should I, should I not?” talking to the bench. Well, the birthday boy and Curry’s confidant, Draymond Green thinks he should’ve. After the win, Green to Instagram reposted ESPN’s clip of the same incident. He wrote, “I suppose so! @stephencurry30” Suggesting his teammate should’ve hit the ‘night-night’ celebration.

Well, he also added, “Show up @lovehazelrenee” as he apparently sent an inside-joke sort of message to his lovely wife Hazel Renee. While Green’s message to his wife isn’t clear, he celebrated his 35th birthday in style, finishing the game with eight points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. After the game, the Warriors’ veteran big man also had a special celebration, in which he reminded his teammates of his wish by using an exact number of candles on his cake.

It was through the cake that Green let his teammates know about his actual wish. He pointed out, “There’s five candles,” and added, “Y’all know what my wish is.” Well, if you didn’t get it.
