Sunday night was a first for the All-Star Game with the round-robin format shaking things up. But when it comes to Stephen Curry hitting big shots and snagging trophies at the Chase Center, that’s a familiar scene we’ve seen plenty of times before. And it was very special for the Warriors superstar. The All-Star weekend was held at his home turf in the NBA, the Bay Area.
The All-Star weekend returned to San Francisco after the year 2000. And it was poetic. We saw the Oakland Arena once again where the Warriors have had countless memories. It was Steph’s 11th All-Star appearance, and he topped it off with the All-Star game MVP, another achievement for the 4x champion.
He loves the city, after all, it gave him everything he has, so to commemorate this moment, Steph released a short tribute on X for the city which is home to 808,988 residents and the Dub Nation. “It was unbelievable showcase of what the Bay Area is all about. Moving to San Francisco, all the Dub Nation, like we did a lot! We had a lot of fun. Think it was a mission accomplished on putting the Bay full on full stage. So, See y’all next time,” said the 2x MVP in the video.

He had echoed his thoughts after the All-Star final as well. Curry described the weekend as “just a special weekend all the way around.” He called it symbolic of his entire journey, saying, “This is very symbolic of the entire journey. I hope we have a lot to accomplish on the court and not ending the journey anytime soon, but … for me and from my vantage point having played here for 16 years and this is the only place that I’ve played, it’s just a great celebration of basketball in this area.”
For three straight days, the Bay Area belonged to Steph. From Thursday through Sunday night, the energy was electric, like a festival dedicated to the Warriors superstar. His presence wasn’t just felt—it completely took over. Officially or not, Curry ran the show, stepping into the role of host so seamlessly that it might as well have been his event.

Stephen Curry couldn’t have asked for a better All-Star Weekend. Fresh off winning MVP in Team Shaq’s 41-25 victory over Team Chuck, he sat back, taking it all in. “The hosting experience was unbelievable,” he said Sunday night at Chase Center—aka The House That Steph Built.

This weekend wasn’t just about San Francisco. Curry made sure Oakland got its shine, too. He kicked things off in the city that shaped him, visiting public schools in East and West Oakland. His Eat.Learn.Play. foundation poured six figures into the district and renovated schools—not an NBA event, but definitely a Curry priority.
Saturday, he was back at his old stomping grounds, Oracle Arena (now Oakland Arena). All-Star Media Day, the Celebrity Game, and the Rising Stars practice took place there, a nod to the Warriors’ 47 years in the building. “I got real emotional (Saturday) going back,” he admitted. “I’ve been back a couple times before but not with a crowd and not with a basketball floor on the ground and being able to reminisce.”

Then, it was over to Chase Center for All-Star Saturday Night. He and Ayesha had courtside seats before hosting a star-studded party at Splash, rebranded as “Club Thirty” for the night. Sunday, he shook off the fatigue, drilled a half-court shot, dropped 15 points, and took home MVP.

The weekend honored both sides of the Bay, just as it should. And Steph? He wouldn’t have had it any other way.
