There are a lot of things Stephen Curry can do other than play basketball. Remember “I Love Commons,” the rap from Davidson’s sharpest point guard? Curry could’ve easily swapped his sneakers for a mic and gone full Eminem. He’s passionate about golf and cannot have enough of the elite sport. But well, he chose the hoops and found his way into the NBA (THANK YOU, BASKETBALL GODS!). However, over the summer break, he considered a career that wasn’t about scoring points—but about helping others. No, it wasn’t philanthropy!

Stephen Curry sat for a candid conversation with the Warriors broadcaster Bob Fitzgerald on Saturday. There, the veteran who has known Curry for the last 16 years was curious to know why the 36-year-old guard wanted to be an Uber driver over the summer break. Well, what?! Was Stephen Curry looking for an alternative career?

No, Curry wanted to be an Uber driver just for a night. But why? “I’d be a nice five-star Uber driver for sure. Make sure you’re taken care of,” Steph said. “It’s like a good point guard on the court. We’re going to get where we’re trying to go and make sure everybody’s happy along the way.” Surprisingly, his kind-heartedness didn’t leave his side when while decided to be a cab driver for a few hours. Always thinking about others!

Well, for Steph driving around approximately 57 million Americans across the country would’ve been difficult. However, 7 million living in San Francisco could’ve had easy access to Curry’s “care.” The veteran point guard was quite serious about his driving career. He revealed: “I made it all the way to submitting you know all the background license checks in order to get certified and then I left it there. I probably still have my profile up.”

At this point, it’s not even surprising that Stephen Curry thinks how he can add more smiles to people’s face. Be it through his charity or his desire to drive an Uber. Besides, Steph has a ride of his choice, if he goes around the Bay Area in his little cab.
