As Team USA prepares for their next exhibition games, the squad has arrived in Abu Dhabi. They are set to face Australia on the 15th followed by a game against Serbia on the 17th. While Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and company continue to grind, it is good to take a breather between practices. And what better relief for NBA players than golf, especially for Steph? Curry even missed this year’s American Century Championship, which he’s a reigning champion of.

Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, and Stephen Curry hit the green following their practice. The three had a great time as NBA and NBA Arabic posted on Instagram. However, Charles Barkley was quick to point out that Curry was ducking him and used the Olympics as an excuse to not participate in this year’s American Century Championship. “I just want to say this, Steph Curry, you a coward. You are ducking me, you think, you thought you knew I was going to beat you this year. You thought you were going to skate because you’re going to the Olympics. What kind of weak excuse is that?“, said Barkley.

Well, as of now, the Olympics are of much more importance, considering Team USA’s performance last year. But then again, hitting the course during camp is one of the best ways to relax as a player. And that’s what Steph likes to do often. However, he can look to skip his yearly run at the green in light of his first Olympic appearance. Well at the end of the day, if wearing red, blue, and white is what’s on the other side of the field, Steph’s so-called excuse can be considered.

The Chef took care of things even last year when he won the whole thing. It’s incredible to see truly how gifted he is on and off the court. But then again, this offseason. Steph has something else planned. Now, the four-time champ can play golf all he wants, thought it would be better if he did it after winning his first Olympic gold. The magic is yet to happen, when fans will witness Curry and James in action. Though after watching Curry practice gold amid exhibition games, is he taking this tour lightly?

Stephen Curry and company will have some competition

While France has been a team on the lookout, some members may just be the new threats. Serbia defeated France in the friendly with Jokic doing all his magic on the tall Frenchmen. Also, Canada, who recently lost to the US, will look to make a comeback as soon as they hit Group Stage in Paris. Yes, you have the greatest shooter of all time, the all-time scoring leader, a lethal 7-foot scorer, and the best young prospects on one hand. But on the other hand, teams may not have such star power, bu there definitely is some essence of a fight.

Taking these games lightly won’t affect the team in the present, but they might have some issues if players don’t take it seriously. It will be interesting to watch these guys go all out to a must-win Olympics. Why is it a must-win? For starters, this year’s All-NBA first team included four international players. Not only that but there have been talks of the world catching up to the State’s beloved sport. Curry, KD, and James will be the ones to restore faith in USAB.
