Fans are so used to seeing their favorite players on the court and in the public eye, sometimes they tend to forget that the same superstars have a life outside basketball. From a loving husband to a caring father, players usually have various roles to play off the court. And Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox has been doing exactly that lately.
After tying the knot with his wife Recee Caldwell just two years ago, De’Aaron was blessed with his first son, Reign Fox, in February of last year. Earlier today, Fox announced the arrival of another member in his family, receiving heartwarming wishes from his NBA peers and the fans.
Fox shared three pictures of himself his wife on Instagram, who showed showing off her baby bump, and announced that the couple is expecting a second child very soon. “There’s nothing I’ve ever wanted more than to grow a family with you. Reigny’s going to be the best big brother 💞” he wrote.

What began as a silent meeting passing through the valet of a hotel six years ago has turned into a beautiful marriage between Fox and Recee. Working as a player development intern for the Washington Wizards during the 2018 NBA summer league, Recee caught the eye of the then-sophomore Fox.
While Recee was also an elite basketball player who made the McDonald’s All-American team, Fox was not familiar with her because she was two classes above him and chose to pass by her without saying a word. In an interview with Andscape last year, Fox hilariously said, “I didn’t know the girls two classes up.”
But the duo hit it off soon after Recee confronted the Kings star on DM about ignoring her the first time. Then, their relationship took off after several meetings and the couple eventually decided to get married in 2022 in Malibu.
Last year, the couple welcomed their first child Reign on February 3. Before his birth, Fox and Reese revealed they had chosen a Kings-themed name for their baby boy. Fox first introduced baby Reign in tweet, writing, “My Reign is almost here.” And while they have announced another addition to their family, currently there is no update on a possible name for the child.
Following the wholesome news the NBA community poured in their wishes with Warriors star Stephen Curry and Lakers player Vandebilt extending their wishes.
“MVP season incoming,” Fans and NBA express delight for De’Aaron Fox
First in line to congratulate Fox was none other than Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry. Expecting a fourth child of his own, Steph was ecstatic to see Fox growing his family and succeeding in life, “Congrats. Big time blessings!!” he wrote in the comments section.
Next up was Atlanta Hawks player Trae Young. Last year Young and his wife Shelby Miller announced the birth of their second child – a baby girl named Teal Dove Young. As such Young didn’t shy away from congratulating Fox and wrote, “Yesssssir! Congrats y’all🍾”
While the Kings and Lakers had their on-court battles all season long and seemed to be developing a rivalry, Lakers star Jarred Vanderbilt didn’t let the competition stop him from joining in Fox’s happiness in his personal life. “Congrats family.” Vando wrote. Former Kings big man Harry Giles III also joined in and put fire emojis underneath Fox’s post.
Nuggets forward Braxton Key also sent his wishes and wrote, “Congrats Bro!” After learning about De’Aaron Fox’s wholesome announcement on Instagram, the NBA fans also didn’t wait very long to shower their love and blessings on the Sacramento star and his wife. While the Kings failed to reach the playoffs this year, Fox had a great individual season. Averaging nearly 27 points, Fox was a nightmare for his opponents on the court and many believed he got snubbed from the All-Star team.
A fan commended Fox for excelling in every aspect of his life and said, “You’re a winner on and off the court twin.”
Last year after the birth of Reign, Fox averaged 32.1 points on 56.7-percent shooting from the field with 4.3 rebounds, seven assists and 1.9 steals in the eight games. Moreover, in that run Fox had six games with at least 31 points and one 42-point game.
As such another fan had a bold claim after hearing Fox’s announcement, “MVP season incoming to celebrate the birth 🙌” Like childbirth has done for many superstars in the league like Luka Doncic and Rudy Gobert, who are both in the Conference Finals, this fan predicted big things for De’Aaron next season after the birth of his second child.

Although it is not known yet when will Fox’s second child will be exactly born, but if Fox’s performance after the birth of Reign is anything to go by, Kings’ fans will hope it comes at an apt time during the next NBA season. But right now, Fox’s primary focus would be to take care of his wife and make sure the baby is born healthy.
