James Harden took the Los Angeles Clippers to a comfortable 121-113 victory over the Golden State Warriors.  Harden filled in the scoring boots for absentee, Paul George and proved to be difference maker for the Clippers as he scored an impressive 28 points, 15 assists, and three rebounds.  He paired well with Kawhi Leonard as he went past the 25000 career points mark.

Stephen Curry could not offset the Clippers’ tide as he added 17 points in the game. Without Draymond Green who was suspended for an indefinite time after punching Jusuf Nurkic, the Warriors struggled. But after the game, Stephen Curry had some nice words about the man of the moment James Harden.

Golden State Warriors suffered their third straight loss against the Los Angeles Clippers. And it was the sixth straight win of the Clippers.  The match saw James Harden score 25000 points to become the 24th player in NBA history to cover the milestone.

Stephen Curry was asked the same during the media interaction and he spoke in congratulatory tones about the star. He started his answer to the reporter’s question with these words,  “Ultimate respect.” Further, he added, “We both know how much it takes to perform at the level we have been after so long.”

He reiterated how great a milestone it was for Harden and that both of them have a strong desire to win against the other. Curry recognized the greatness of his opponent while saying that healthy competition would be there.

However, Harden wished to prioritize team over the individual achievements. He said, “It doesn’t matter if I got two points or (28) tonight, winning is the key. The stats and everything — I’ve done a lot of different things and accomplished a lot of different individual stats. For me, it’s about winning, about building chemistry, about continuing to get better, and I think tonight was another step forward for us as a unit.”

Though Stephen Curry was gracious in defeat to Harden, how often has he had to be on the wrong side of a scoreline to the 2017-2018 MVP?

Stephen Curry and James Harden: Head-to-Head

Stephen Curry is one of the greatest players to step on the court.  He is a four-time NBA champion and two-time MVP. He has revolutionized basketball with three-point shots and has the most of them in NBA history.  When it comes to the scoring list he occupies the 34th spot with 22341 points.

On the other hand, Harden is much ahead of Curry in terms of points.  He has 25008 points and occupies the 24th position in the list topped by LeBron James. Having proved his mettle in franchises like Thunder, Rockets, Nets, and 76ers, it’s safe to say Harden is one of the greatest shooting guards in history. The only shooting guards with more impressive resumes are all time greats, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade.
