Following the signing of 38-year-old veteran guard Chris Paul. Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are facing the likelihood of bidding farewell to a crucial piece of their championship puzzle. Reports indicate the team does not expect their 39-year-old veteran forward to be part of the roster for the upcoming season.

While the door remains open for his return, the team is not actively pursuing his comeback, marking a change from last summer’s approach.

The 19-year NBA veteran Andre Iguodala had a challenging season, marred by injuries and limited playing time. He missed the first 39 games of the season, focusing on his fitness for the competition. When he finally returned to action, he featured in only eight games before fracturing his left wrist on March 13. This unfortunate setback forced him to miss the remainder of the regular season and the team’s 13 playoff games.

Response from Curry or any Warriors players remains to be seen, but as things stand, Iguodala is most certainly leaving.

As of now, Iguodala’s intentions for the upcoming season remain unclear. He recently stated that he is “unemployed” in terms of his basketball career, implying that retirement might be an option. However, there is a chance the veteran is considering other opportunities beyond the court.

Last season, the 4x NBA champion took on an unofficial role as an assistant coach, offering guidance to the younger players on the roster. The newly assigned GM Mike Dunleavy Jr discussed Iguodala’s future with the Warriors in an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area.

?We?ve communicated some this summer already,? Dunleavy said. ?We?ll see, we?re not going to close the door on anything. But my guess, and my belief, is that he won?t be back.”

If he decides to hang up his boots, he could focus on other endeavors, including monitoring the progress of his 16-year-old son’s basketball journey.

Andre Iguodala has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the Warriors organization. He was a crucial member of four championship teams, playing an essential role in their success. His leadership, both on and off the court, has been invaluable, and his teammates and fans alike widely respect him.
