Stephen Curry‘s legacy over the past decade is nothing short of extraordinary. With his unmatched ability to shoot three-point bombs, he led the Golden State Warriors to four NBA titles, equaling LeBron James’ championship tally. Just one more ring would put him ahead of “King James” in this remarkable feat. Curry’s dominance and success have earned him a global fan base and cemented his influence in the league. Today, his impact is so profound that young players entering the NBA look up to him as a source of inspiration.
After the Warriors lost to the Los Angeles Clippers, Fox Sports 1 panelist, Rachel Nichols, inquired about Curry’s thoughts regarding the recognition he gets from the league. She posted the story on X, quoting, “Great story from Draymond Green tonight about the reverence Steph Curry inspires – he said a current NBA All-Star hit him this summer to ask for Steph’s number…and then basically asked Draymond to help compose a text to him, because he was too nervous to do it on his own.”

Although we don’t know who the All-Star was, you see Steph’s influence on younger players. In a post-match press conference, Steph talked about this. “I noticed it. You try to appreciate it, acknowledge it and it’s still surreal. Because I feel like every episode like that or every example of that, it does remind you of how long you have been in this league. So it’s kind of sobering at the same time, but I feel like, uh, it’s a blessed position to be in.”
Furthermore, Curry shared a touching story about Lakers rookie Quincy Olivari, who was overcome with emotion and broke down in tears upon meeting the Warriors legend. The moment highlights the profound admiration and respect Curry commands.

“Still trying to play at a high level but have the appreciation from guys, no matter, you know, what they, how many years they have been in this league. And even down to, Quincy Oivari. We had that moment pre-season. So like the whole game, it doesn’t makes sense to me cuz 16 years is, just flew by. But I do lean into it and appreciate the admiration,” said Curry after the Olivari meetup.
During a game against the Golden State Warriors, Lakers rookie Quincy Olivari showcased his talent with an impressive 22-point performance, catching the attention of scouts despite his team’s loss. However, the true highlight for Olivari came off the court when he had the chance to meet Stephen Curry. For the young player, the encounter was a dream come true.

“I liked him since I was in 6th grade … that’s my favorite player ever … the first thing he told me was ‘I’m a big fan of your game and I had his jersey. He signed it twice. I used to sleep under that jersey,” said an emotional Quincy Olivari, who broke down during the press conference.
