Remember when Stephen Curry slipped on a wet spot on the floor against the Rockets and injured his knee? To jog your memory, it happened nine years ago during the Warriors’ historic 73-9 season. That too, in the first round of the playoffs. Unfortunately, the slip caused the Baby-Faced Assassin to take a nasty fall with his legs in full split, forcing him to miss the rest of the game. Of course, the moment brings back some haunting memories for Dub Nation.
Surprisingly, Bleacher Report somehow resurfaced it by linking it to Jaden Greathouse’s wild touchdown during tonight’s clash against Penn State. Yes, the Notre Dame star did an insane crossover move to get past Jaylen Reed and score a touchdown, sparking a massive turnaround for his team. His impressive fake caused Reed to lose footing and hit the grass, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Soon after the touchdown went viral, BR shared a screenshot of the move on their social media pages along with an image of Steph’s fall nine years ago. “Jaden Greathouse really crossed him up for the TD 💀”, the post read.
Obviously, Curry was not pleased with the disrespect and savagely responded to the well-renowned media house, “Need clicks that bad huh?????” Well, his frustration is justified because Steph’s fall was not even because of an opponent’s move. It was just an unfortunate incident that should have been left alone.

Moreover, it led to Curry spraining the MCL in his right knee, and he could not suit up for the rest of the series. Sure enough, Bleacher Report realized their massive blunder after getting called out by Steph and deleted the post from their platforms.
But the damage had already been done!
Stephen Curry “Cried” after the slip that was resurfaced by the media house
Although BR tried to correct their mistake by removing the post, it left the hoops community fuming for making fun of an incident that injured Steph. When it happened nine years ago, it devastated the Warriors star. Upon knowing that he could not return to the game due to the knee injury, he reportedly began crying.

As per USA Today’s Sam Amick, Draymond Green said, “He was shook up; he was crying. It’s pain. It’s wanting to be out there with your guys. He was quiet, so I said everything to him.”
And it took some motivational words from Green to uplift Curry after the setback. “I just told him, ‘Hold your head up. It’ll be all right. But then get the (expletive) out of here. We got you. Get out of here.’”
As Draymond promised, the Warriors won that series even without Steph, giving a happy conclusion to a tragic memory. And they even made it to the NBA Finals, eventually losing to a LeBron James-led Cavaliers squad in arguably the most epic finals series ever.
