Thursday night’s Lakers-Warriors showdown in L.A. had all the makings of a blockbuster. With LeBron James and Steph Curry on the floor, you’d expect a back-and-forth battle—especially given their history of four straight Finals clashes from 2015 to 2018. But that didn’t happen. By halftime, the Lakers had already built a 20-point lead, leaving little room for drama. Making Stephen Curry miserable.

LeBron put on a clinic in the first half, stuffing the stat sheet with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. He barely missed, going 8-12 from the field and knocking down 5 of his 6 threes. But let’s be honest, one shot had everyone losing it—his deep three from the logo.

Draymond Green missed a wide-open layup, and Luka Doncic was seen laughing on the sidelines to make Curry even more miserable. He tried hard to control his laugh but had to give in. While he’s not making his debut tonight, he still found a way to be on the coverage. Well, that right there is a star’s influence.

Speaking of stars, LeBron casually pulled up from deep, drilling a logo three with Steph Curry watching from the other end. Pretty bold, right? Meanwhile, Curry wasn’t exactly having his best night. He struggled to get in a groove, managing just 13 points with no assists. His shooting?

Rough. He hit only 5 of 14 shots and was ice cold from three, going 1-for-7. If the Warriors want any chance to bounce back, they need Curry to snap out of it and others to step up. Well, Steph will have to hold on a little longer because help has arrived in the Bay Area.

Jimmy Butler admits Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter of all time

The Golden State Warriors shocked everyone by trading for five-time All-Star Jimmy Butler, pairing him with the legendary Steph Curry ahead of the NBA trade deadline. Butler couldn’t hide his excitement when he spoke to the media for the first time as a Warrior before Thursday’s game against the Lakers.

“I’m so happy to be playing basketball again, honestly,” Butler shared. “Before an organization like this one, with some hellafied talent that we have. I’m glad that I get the opportunity to get here and help, get us to winning, and do something special. I think that’s why I’m here, and I will do my best to do what everybody wants. And that’s to win a championship. I mean it.

While rumors had Butler eyeing Phoenix, he made it clear Golden State was his top choice.

“This is a great choice, and the best part about everything is that I never say anything, so nobody actually really knows what’s going on because it never comes from my mouth,” Butler said. “Out of everything that’s been going on, I’m happy to be here. I’m happy to be able to play basketball again, meaningful basketball at that.”

Butler also couldn’t resist praising his new teammate, saying of Curry, “Everybody knows he’s the greatest shooter in the world, greatest shooter in history… Pass the ball to Steph and get out the way. Easy.” Looks like he’s glad that the 2x MVP is on his side now.
