While we knew the explosiveness of Stephen Curry and LeBron James, nobody really knew what to expect when put together. Two NBA rivals on the same team? However, King James had admitted in the past that Steph was a player on his list wishlist. While the two delivered some of the greatest clutch performances in Paris, who do you think the Splash Brother wanted to play with the most? Well, one of the answers is LeBron, another name emerged to be none other than the defensive powerhouse of the team, Jrue Holiday.
Not only that, but even Holiday was a fan of Steph after sharing the ball with him. Recently, Holiday attended Raising Cane’s 28th anniversary, as the 2x Champ celebrated the fast food franchise’s 828th store opening in Boston. Being the star of the event, Jrue opened up about playing with D-Book and Stephen Curry in the Olympics, saying, “I think Steph Curry is just, I mean, one of the best players in the world. So to go out there and be his teammate was cool, too. It was an amazing experience playing with some legends… Brought back some Gold.”
Jrue Holiday shouted out Devin Booker and Stephen Curry when asked about connections he enjoyed on Team USA.

Stephen Curry, also a fan of Holiday, had quite some time with the Celtic. The two combined can make one of the best backcourts in the league. With Steph’s shooting and Holiday’s defense, it would be a delight for the Warriors to merge such talent. Guess what, they tried!
Considering Steph’s wish to play alongside Holiday, as the Chef once said, “Jrue Holiday is the one guy for me. I have so much respect for him as a basketball player and what he can do out there. It he just seems like a great locker room guy, a great leader. Anybody that has played with him, talk about him you know, nothing but great things are said about him. He’s one that comes to mind for me as a guy I would like to play with.”. Unfortunately, the Warriors failed to capitalize on the opportunity to bring in Holiday.
The Dubs had just lost Jordan Poole, and his replacement was the veteran Chris Paul. Now, the math was simple: The Warriors were to send CP3 along with draft picks or their younger assets to acquire Holiday from the Blazers. However, even though the Dubs were one of the few teams who showed an interest in Holiday, they failed to land him. But what happened next?
Stephen Curry and the Warriors are now left with young superstars

Having guys like Podz and JK on the roster is quite reliable for the long run. But then again, Steph won’t be in the Bay Area for long. The Chef has turned 36 and is nearing his final years. If the Warriors had acquired Holiday, they could have still been a considerable threat in the West. Not to mention, Jrue’s addition might have helped with Klay‘s struggles. In the worst-case scenario, the Dubs would have at least been a playoff contender if not the favorites to win it all, had they gone for the current Celt.
In the present day, the Dubs didn’t have a merry offseason. Their new additions do bring a lot of impact on the table. Though as many might expect, there needs to be a superstar or even All-Star-worthy player beside Steph. If anything, the Warriors wouldn’t want the following season to play out like it did back in 2021. Even though Steph won his second scoring title, the Chef didn’t have enough players to rely on apart from Wiggins.
At this point in time, Curry and Green need a consistent 3-and-D player to improve the rotations. Now, it goes without saying that Steph is on the lookout for another Championship run. This is where the front office comes into play. It will be interesting to see whether the Warriors add any major additions in the middle of the season.
