The Golden State Warriors are, without a doubt, experiencing a major high right now. Since Jimmy Butler’s arrival, the team has won 9 of their last 10 matchups, a feat that has elevated their standing on the Western Conference points table. The only thing that can stop their progress now is if the competition understands how to best them on the offensive front or injury concerns. Well, no sooner had two other players indirectly handed fans some bad news when Stephen Curry came out with a direct confession of his own.

Steph participated in a Q&A session after the Warriors’ recent win against the Charlotte Hornets. Despite the Bay Area winning by a 119-101 score, concern was raised during the game after Curry rolled his ankle. When a reporter asked for an update regarding the same, the Three-Point Leader replied, “It’s a minor tweak. I feel all right now. Just cold from the ice tub”.

When asked if the ailment means he will miss out on a game, Curry revealed that he will have to “See how I’m feeling in the morning. I did roll it, but I finished the game. So hopefully, wakes up or wake up with a little bit more recovery than it is right now”.

After another reporter questioned his availability for the next game, the 4x champ made things clear: I think I’m going to play but if my ankle says I shouldn’t play, then I won’t play. There you go. That’s better”. The Warriors star willingly talked about his injury. However, his response continued to keep fans and reporters in the dark.

Stephen Curry isn’t the only Warriors player currently dealing with injury troubles. Jimmy Butler missed the previous game, played against the Philadelphia 76ers, as he was recovering from back spasms. According to Steve Kerr, Butler began experiencing the issue after taking a hit from Wendell Carter Jr. during the Bay Area’s 121-115 win over the Orlando Magic on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Gary Payton II went down during the recent Warriors-Hornets game after having a serious collision with LaMelo Ball. Ball ran into Payton while driving to the rim with five minutes left in the 3rd quarter. The Warriors star was left on the floor, clutching his face in pain. Soon, he was helped to the locker room with a towel on his face. A later diagnosis revealed that Payton II had sustained a nasal laceration.

Should Curry risk his ankle against the Knicks, or is it time for Kerr to play it safe?

Given these 3 injuries, the win record going 33-28 after the victory against the Charlotte Hornets has now dampened the mood. However, if we believe Steve Kerr, then the 3 key players will not be sidelined so easily.

Despite Stephen Curry’s history with ankle injuries, Steve Kerr chooses to rest no veterans for the upcoming Knicks matchup

If there is one player who needs to take ankle injuries seriously, it is Stephen Curry. After all, the issue has been plaguing the NBA star since his early career days. According to reports, a surgeon had to rebuild two ligaments in Curry’s right ankle back in the early 2010s. Per reports, they had “stretched apart like a rotting sweater”.

The player also suffered five sprains over a 26-game stretch later on. GiveMeSport even labeled him one of the league’s most “injury-prone” players during his third season, as seven ankle sprains in just 16 months sidelined him for a staggering 56 games during the 2011-12 season.

Therefore, Steve Kerr should know better when to sideline his star player. However, he was confident enough to believe that this wasn’t one of those times.

“Well, Steph’s in a great place right now. Draymond seems to be in a good place, Jimmy missing the other night but we will see how he comes out,” said Kerr regarding the upcoming Knicks game. “Every game is different, you just don’t know. I don’t want to make any predictions for tomorrow but we got nothing planned. We want everybody playing and there is an urgency to everything we are doing.”
