Stephen Curry and his Warriors are finally able to breathe. Gaining victory over the Houston Rockets with 121-116, the Golden State couldn’t be happier. This season’s Warriors dynasty had a lot of stumbling blocks. Most recently, it was Curry sitting out and Green’s suspension.
But tonight, with Steph on-court and their first win after six straight losses, Curry can’t help but be reminded of a similar situation they were in last year.

Last season saw the Warriors put a stop to their 11-game losing streak on-road when they went up against the Rockets. March 21, 2023 saw Curry score 30 and Thompson 29 points to break the losing streak that they were in. And tonight, Curry is reminded of it when talking to the media post-game.

This time, Curry took the lead again with 32 points while Thompson dropped 20. It is Klay’s season-high score that has led to a flicker of hope for many fans. Taking a look at the stats, this would make Steph’s seventh game with 30 or more points.
Though not the kind of stats Curry is known for, this game holds more value in that it was a need for a win. By whatever means necessary. And for Kerr, Stephen Curry was the means, which is why he let him play the entire fourth quarter. “We weren’t perfect, but in this case, you just need to win. That was the focus tonight,” Kerr said post-game.
Well, hopefully, they will keep this focus going further as well. But what are some of the factors that could give them a legitimate championship chance?
Can the Warriors hope to win another ring this season?
Holding the fifth place as favorites to win a championship, the Golden State Warriors are still very much in the race. Two or so months before would have posted them as the one. But since then, there have been many changes that happened on every team that has given them worthy opponents. It is not going to be smooth sailing.

Yet, there are a few aspects of the team that can help them out. First and foremost is the growth of their younger players. Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski, and Jonatham Kuminga have proven they can be the leaders of tomorrow for the Warriors. With key players like Gary Payton II and Draymond Green out, their presence has proven to be even more important.
The next factor is Chris Paul. A major factor that killed their 2022 title run was the Green-Poole altercation. With him being swapped for 12x NBA All-Star and one of the greatest point guards, CP3 brings a whole new level of depth to the roster. Highly motivated to win a ring for the first time, it is a given the “Point God” will do anything necessary to confirm their position.

And then, of course, they still have the Splash Brothers, Green, and Wiggins. Though we have only seen glimpses of the brilliance, they are capable of so far. It is not too late to give credit where it’s due. If this team can get their bearings, we will see the Dub Nation rise to its full height and maybe even tower over others.
