Doesn’t matter who the opponent is, Father Time remains undefeated. At 37 years old, Stephen Curry could be the latest victim of this harsh reality. Last night, Steph looked like a shell of himself against the Nuggets shooting 6 of 21 from the field while committing seven turnovers. After the tough loss, Steve Kerr made a shocking confession, “He’s tired. Steph’s been carrying us for a month. He’s tired. We’ve gotta get him some rest. You can see it. He doesn’t have his energy right now.”

Obviously, Steph has been the primary scorer for the Warriors all year, averaging 24.3 points and over six assists. Moreover, he has been playing through multiple lingering injuries, which affected his performance in recent games. So, Kerr’s concern is justified, and he revealed that the Baby-Faced Assassin could “potentially” sit out tonight’s game against the Bucks for some much-needed rest.

However, when Curry was asked for confirmation on his energy level, his response was not in line with Kerr’s comments, “I feel fine. Obviously, I didn’t play great at all so everybody, including the coach, is gonna try to figure out why. Mostly the turnovers, dumb plays all night. You expect to have a level of consistency and whatnot, so when it doesn’t happen, it becomes a question.”

Despite his disappointing performance, Steph assured that tiredness was not part of the problem. Steph also revealed his availability for tonight depends on how his back feels. He says, “Feel like more so my back what I was dealing with the last couple days. Will see how that responds tomorrow but otherwise feel pretty solid.”

While the four-time champ claimed he was feeling fine, Kerr seemed adamant about giving him a night’s rest, “Gotta talk to Rick. But he’s exhausted right now. We’ve gotta absolutely consider giving him a night and getting him rejuvenated for the sake of him and the remainder of our games. But we’ll see.”

Amid Steph and Kerr’s contradictory comments, Draymond Green made his stance clear about the two-time MVP’s health concerns.

Draymond Green claims “Everybody’s Tired” as the Warriors aim to avoid Play-in Tournament

Unlike Kerr, Draymond did not seem to have much sympathy for his longtime running mate. Watering down Kerr’s excuse, Green said, “It’s game 68. I think we are all tired. That’s the reality of the NBA. So, we just gotta all figure out a way. All things considered, everybody’s tired.”

Having been through the rodeo multiple times, the former DPOY understands every player faces fatigue at this stage of the season. Especially when they are on the older side. Steph is no different. Detailing the experience, Green continued, “It used to be like late January, probably February, really late January, you start getting into them dog days. And then you get to the All-Star break and then you kind of get rejuvenated coming out of the break.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Steve Kerr overreacting about Steph's fatigue, or is it time to give him a break?

Have an interesting take?

And then you kind of get to this point and it’s like can’t quite see the All-Star break anymore, but you can’t quite see the end of the year. You kind of hit those dog days again. That’s where everybody is right now in the NBA,” said Green.

But Draymond believes now is not the time to take the foot off the gas, “Unfortunately, we got a lot to play for in these games, so we don’t get the luxury of tricking off games or a bunch of rest. We need to win games.”

With only 14 regular-season games remaining, the Warriors need maximum wins to boost their chances of making the playoffs. And obviously, avoid a major hurdle – the Play-in tournament!

Green added, “Yeah, we just wanna not be in the Play-in. Everybody gotta, we gotta figure it out.” The Warriors have fought hard to climb to the sixth seed, and they aim not to fall back as it could shatter their playoff hopes.

Moreover, the play-in tournament will only add to Steph and the rest of the team’s fatigue. So, even though Kerr doesn’t want it, he might have to delay Curry’s rest day to ensure a spot in the playoffs.
