He’s back, and Dub Nation can breathe again! Stephen Curry gave Warriors fans a serious scare when he crashed hard onto the court against the Raptors last Thursday, injuring his pelvis. The good news? The MRI showed no structural damage. The bad news? He still had to sit out two straight games—both of which the Warriors lost.
So when Steph suited up against the Pelicans tonight, it was a sight for sore eyes. And just like that, he reminded everyone why he’s the heart of this team—no rust, no hesitation, just pure dominance. He dropped 23 points, leading Golden State to a much-needed win. And after the game? He gave some key insights into his injury.
“It just reminded me of 2021 when I fell into the stairs in Houston. Thankfully, I didn’t break anything or have any bone damage, but mostly just a deep serious contusion.” He remarked. Yes, something similar happened to the Baby-Faced Assassin four years ago during a regular season game. During an iso play, Steph attempted a deep three over two Rockets defenders. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and backpedalled into the stands, hitting his pelvis on the edge of the metal stairs. Of course, the stands were empty because it was the pandemic era and Curry ended up with a hairline fracture in his tailbone.

Fortunately, his recent injury is not as serious as that one, “I’ll feel it for a while but I can play. I can’t make it worse as long as I don’t land on it.” Even during tonight’s Pels clash, the pelvic contusion did not affect Steph’s performance, “Nah it didn’t bother, just I’m aware of it. I don’t know how long it will take but I feel like I did tonight and don’t have any other incidents where I fall on it, I should be fine.”
So, you can expect Steph to suit up for the remaining nine regular season games. Obviously, his return has boosted the morale of the entire locker room.

Although Curry getting injured shook the Warriors’ momentum for two games, there was a silver lining—Steph got a much-needed break from the gruelling schedule. He addressed the pros and cons after the game, “Felt good. I mean a week off is great in one aspect because you’re rested. But the timing, the endurance of getting through your regular minutes, that was a little bit of a challenge and down the stretch just trying to manage the game and not do anything crazy. So, all in all it was a great night. Obviously, nice to get the win.”
Now that Steph is feeling healthy and ready to go, his focus is on winning the remaining regular season games and booking a spot in the playoffs, “It should be a good run all the way to our last game. Win as many as we can.” How many games do you think the Warriors can win with Curry back in the lineup?
