Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry recently generated a state of worry amongst his fans. During the recent matchup against the Chicago Bulls, with just two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the player ended up injuring his ankle and had to opt out of the remainder of the game. Given that the Warriors are currently placed as the 9 seed on the Western Conference Points table, team fans have been supposedly praying for the player’s recovery so that he could be available for the upcoming games. Other people, like journalists Matt Steinmetz and Daryle ‘the Guru’ Johnson, have been attempting to find the silver lining in the same.

During a recent episode of his podcast, Steinmetz highlighted that Curry has been only shooting 37% from the field during the past 13 games. This led to him assuming that the 2x MVP is “tired” and that a break of three weeks would do him some good. The host also highlighted a silver lining in assuming that Curry’s exit would give way for another player to try his luck out on the basketball court.

“Give me Chris Paul, I’ll take Chris Paul,” said Steinmetz. “I’ll also take Chris Paul because he hasn’t played in five weeks and he’s getting back into shape. He might be able to play 33 minutes a night”.

Darly Johnson agreed with his co-host’s opinion and also stated his belief that the 35-year-old player would benefit from some time away from the court.

“They (Warriors) can’t fall out of the plane and maybe they’ll win some games to where they could get eight or nineth if the Lakers fall off,” said Johnson.

Steinmetz and Johnson are correct in stating that a player like Stephen Curry needs to be preserved for the long run. If the Warriors chose to utilize him in his current condition, then he would not be in his peak condition for any playoffs or elimination games that the team will face within the next few months.
