The stage was set in Paris, and the atmosphere was electric. Yes, we are talking about the 2024 Olympics. The locals roared with pride for their team, while the Team USA squad stood firm, ready for the ultimate showdown for the gold medal. No Olympic games in recent years had captured the basketball fan’s attention like this one, and it was all thanks to the golden trio, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant. When the buzzer finally sounded, it was the USA that emerged victorious, with the spotlight shining brightly on Curry for his outstanding contribution. The Bercy Arena crowd went wild, and so did the announcers. Curry didn’t just hurt them once, but twice. This came to light recently in Netflix’s series Court of Gold, where the moments were all captured.
Remember when a clip went viral after the final game ended 98-87 in favor of the USA, and a commentator exclaimed, “The d—- named Curry is hurting us!”? That moment came in the remaining 2:58 minutes of the game and quickly made rounds on the internet last summer. Well, now another comment has surfaced, “We’ve been c——– by Steph Curry.” While the 36-year-old found the previous comment “hilarious,” wonder what he’d say about the latest one.

Despite coming so close to the gold, France had to step back for the champions, with Curry leading the team with his 24 points, the highest of the night, along with 5 assists being the ultimate difference-maker. And Head coach Steve Kerr hugged him after the win, saying, “I’m so f—— lucky to be a part of your life. Holy s—. You are amazing. The finest human being I’ve ever met in my life and I mean that.” When that emotional moment came in the sixth episode of the series, it had America breaking down as well.
America weeps over the Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr moment
The exchange between Steve Kerr and Stephen Curry became a viral-worthy moment. A clip of it spread across all corners of social media, with supporters flooding the comment section to join in on the emotional scene.
“The way he kind of collapsed into Steve really got me 😢We are so lucky to have Steph,” one fan wrote on Reddit. Kerr and Curry share a deep understanding, having worked together for over a decade with the Golden State Warriors. Both have achieved incredible success, bringing out the best in each other. So, when the Warriors HC spoke those kind words, Curry seemed to melt into his arm. That was so raw and heartfelt that it would move anyone even if they didn’t support the Warriors.
Another fan requested, “Please ONE MORE GOLDEN STATE🙏” wanting both Curry and Kerr to get their fifth title with the Warriors. The team is currently in the tenth spot in the West with a 28-27 record. While a championship seemed far from their reach considering the way they were heading this season, the arrival of Jimmy Butler now could potentially change things.
They also attached a GIF of Monkey D. Luffy crying. Although he’s a strong lead character from the anime One Piece, he broke down at that moment. It was probably the same for this fan, someone who usually holds it together but couldn’t help getting emotional after witnessing such a moment.

“I woke up and this was the first thing on my feed. D— I’m gonna be so sad when this man retires,” read one of the comments. Over his 16-year journey, Curry has undoubtedly built a massive fanbase that adores him. Though it may be tough for them to accept, Curry is reaching a point where the retirement announcement could come at any time. And that will surely be a very sad day not only for the fans but the entire league.
Someone wrote, “This documentary will incur some tears. And also make me go back and have another Serbia/France game marathon.” Curry may not have scored much in the initial games, but on the big stage, he showed who’s the ultimate boss. In the semi-final against Serbia, Curry dropped a game-high 36 points. No wonder the fan wants to revisit those games, just to relive those moments all over again.
A fan pointed out, “This man won 5 championships with Michael Jordan and Steph is the one he says he’s lucky to have in his life.” Steve Kerr has a cabinet full of accolades from his time as a player with the Bulls and Spurs. He’s had the privilege of sharing the stage with legends like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman, yet he considers himself lucky to coach Curry. That alone speaks volumes about the value Curry holds in Kerr’s life and his obsession with him.
