The Golden State Warriors are currently in the midst of one of their most disappointing seasons. Out of the 56 games in which they have appeared, the team has only managed to win 29 of them and is currently placed as the 10 seed in the Western Conference Points table. As the situation seems to be improving at a slow pace, fans who had been wishing to receive an update from Stephen Curry about the team’s situation seemed to have gotten their wish.
The Warriors recently faced off against Nikola Jokic’s led Denver Nuggets. Despite Curry and Klay Thompson generating a combined 43 points, the team lost the game by 16 points. During the post-game press conference, Curry provided a ray of hope for fans by revealing that things may improve for the team once point guard Chris Paul recovers from his injury and makes a return to the court.
“I’m excited about it. When he got hurt, we were not in a great place and trying to establish our identity,” said Curry. “He will hopefully elevate us to another level where he gets comfortable and gets his legs underneath him”.

Chris Paul’s possible return has instilled hope about the team’s condition in head coach Steve Kerr as well. During the post-game press conference, when asked about how will the team manage the 38-year-old’s comeback, Kerr answered that he would be given “all of the non-Steph minutes”.
“It’s easier for us to put Steph off the ball and take some of the wear and tear off of him when Chris is out there,” said Kerr during the press conference.

Back in January, the Warriors faced off against the Detroit Pistons. Despite the fact they won the game by a thin margin of 4 points, disaster struck as Chris Paul ended up fracturing his left hand during the third quarter while making contact with Detroit’s Jaden Ivey. The situation was so dire that the player had to undergo surgery within the next few days.
Even though the player was reportedly averaging an all-time low of 8.9 points, 7.2 assists, and 3.8 rebounds during the season, Paul was still instrumental in taking the pressure off Stephen Curry and allowing him to score at his own pace. The effect of his absence became noticeable over the past few days as Curry’s numbers reportedly dropped drastically. The recent loss against the Nuggets saw him going 6 of 19 overall and just 1 of 10 beyond the arc.
As Curry and Kerr remain optimistic about the team’s improvement within the next few games, fans of the Golden State will just have to wait and see the outcome that time will bring.
