Stephen Curry finally settled the score against Michael Jordan. If you ask someone whether the Golden State Warriors superstar will be a Hall of Famer, they might say “yes” without any hesitation. Even if we roll back the clock 5 years down the line, fans might still say yes considering the superstar’s rings and 2 MVPs. However, the Chicago Bulls legend didn’t think the same way.

Back in 2019, when NBC’s Craig Melvin asked MJ the same question, he said, “He [Steph Curry]’s still a great player… Not a Hall of Famer yet, though.” At that time, he had won 3 titles, only three short of the great man. This might have stuck in Steph’s mind for all these years, and he finally got back at him.

Tonight, in the Warriors’ regular season challenge against the Philadelphia 76ers, Stephen Curry passed Michael Jordan in an unusual record. With his 30 points, which helped the team secure a 139-105 blowout win, he became the guard with the most number of 30-point games after turning 35.

Notably, Steph scored his 40th 30-point game, one more than Jordan, to achieve this feat.

This stat couldn’t have come at any better time, considering the Warriors’ troubling times. It hasn’t been a great time for Steph either. Notably, during the game against the Grizzlies in mid-December, the superstar failed to make a single field goal and ended the game with 2 points. Amid this testing time for the Dubs and Chef, this 30-point game facilitated a blow-out win against the Phillies, and more importantly, he went berserk from the arc.

Steph went 8-8 FG from the deep, leaving the Philly defenders clueless. Hilariously, the 4x NBA Champ had to check his hands multiple times to see if it had caught fire. On a metaphorical level, it indeed looked like way.

During an interview with Matt Welty, the interviewer brought up MJ’s word to the center and asked Steph’s take on it. The superstar, without any hesitation, said, “I know I have more to prove to myself. When you hear a guy like that, who’s the greatest of all time, it’s kind of funny.” Moreover, he didn’t stop at that. He also added, “Since we’ve been on this stage, we’ve heard a lot of retired guys chiming in on this generation of basketball players and evaluating talent and saying their generation was better and all that.”

These words very much matched the superstar’s other scenario with Magic Johnson. A few months ago, the NBA world went gaga over the Best PG debate and it was a battle between Magic and Steph. Guess what? the Lakers legend also pounced on the superstar with a humiliating statement. Will Stephen Curry get back on him as well? Let us know in the comments below.
