A vision of a lifetime — that’s what the USAB’s Paris Olympic tour was! And honestly, fans still haven’t been able to shake off the hangover, even months after the tournament. LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant, the NBA legends who’ve defined the game for nearly two decades, all on the same squad. It was like a dream come true for basketball fans. And, of course, they brought home the gold. Even if the world had ended that day, basketball fans would’ve had no regrets. But the heart wants more. Maybe a reunion in the league? Well, the Warriors certainly tried to make it happen, but bringing any of those legends together with Curry has been a real challenge for them. So, is that it? Not yet, at least not according to the Warriors’ leader.
Curry recently opened up about one last dream reunion with LeBron or KD on The TK Show. A big question on everyone’s mind- Will he ever play with them again? “As you’ve seen recently, this league is crazy. So you never say never,” the 36-year-old said, referencing the Luka Doncic trade that left the entire NBA community in shock. That made everyone believe that anything could happen in the NBA, including Curry, so he’s not ruling out that possibility.
Curry further added, “I think it’s funny now because we have our team USA picture where we’re all three of us and it’s nice for a nice headline. But again, I guess everything is possible and nothing is possible at the same time in this league. And so I would love to, I love my experience playing with them for sure.” However, wishes don’t always come true. “This isn’t fantasy basketball either. You kind of have to, again, be reasonable.”

Before the trade window, Durant made it clear he wasn’t planning on returning to Golden State. There were rumors that the franchise had also shown interest in pairing LeBron with Curry, but the Lakers superstar never commented on the idea. Curry, on the other hand, wouldn’t be leaving his Warriors despite the team’s struggles.

The Warriors haven’t been themselves lately. Inconsistencies, defensive flaws, injuries. Everything has kept them playing catch-up. If they win two games, then they’ll lose the next two. This season especially has been nothing short of a mess. And Stephen Curry? It’s been incredibly tough for him to carry the team on his shoulders through all the chaos.
“It’s tougher mentally because you’re looking at the time clock more than ever,” Curry admitted on the show. This season reminds him of 2021, when the team had a .500 record, just like now. However, the scenario was different back then. Curry and the players were coming off the COVID pandemic and he was also recovering from a hand injury.
The Warriors have fallen to the 11th spot in the West with a 26-26 record, yet Curry remains hopeful. “When you’re losing and it’s hard and you’re searching for answers on how to get over the hump, that weighs on you, especially as a leader of a team,” he added. “But it’s also a reminder of, again, to like embrace it as hard as it is, because hopefully the breakthrough will happen. Like that’s the only way you can really think as a competitor, whether you brainwash yourself or not.” Spoken like a true Warrior.

The franchise has every reason to be optimistic now. Why? Because the trade window brought a huge opportunity for them. A blockbuster trade landed Jimmy Butler from Miami. And boy oh boy, the veteran made an immediate impact. From his first appearance against the Bulls, he showed that he’s here to win. This could finally be the breakthrough Curry mentioned. But it’s too soon to tell. For now, fingers are crossed as the season enters its second half.
