For the Curry siblings, it all started with some healthy competition between them. Stephen Curry and Seth would have one-on-one games in the backyard of their childhood home in Charlotte. Some of these games would spill into the night and involve heated arguments over fouls and the youngest sibling, Sydel Curry, would watch on and learn. She would even rebound for Stephen. Though she would eventually follow her mother’s path and engage with volleyball, sports was how the siblings connected. And movies too!
She would force her older brothers to watch movies out of their comfort zone: ‘Girlie’ themed movies. And during his MVP news conference, Stephen Curry even made a reference to this, saying, “You made me watch all sorts of crazy movies growing up, stuff I should not know line for line.”
Think about ‘The Princess Diaries’ and ‘A Walk to Remember’, for instance. But for Sydel, those movie nights were important. “That’s how we bonded. That’s the way we spent time together.”
Today, Stephen Curry is 36, Seth is 30 and Sydel just turned 30! The family celebrated it in style. Notably, the party had begun early among the Currys, as Ayesha, along with her mother-in-law, celebrated Sydel’s pre-birthday party in a cowboy-themed setup. Stephen Curry, on the other hand, only said something oddly late.
The Baby-faced Assassin took to his Instagram stories, shared a picture of his sister, and wrote, “Happy birthday Flossssssss!! 30 on em!” Flossy seems to be Sydel’s nickname among her close circle, as a few of her friends wished her with the same name.
However, people noticed that Stephen shared the story with only two hours left on her birthday! He was 22 hours late, while Ayesha took to her Instagram stories to wish her bestie exactly at midnight. She shared a collage of Sydel’s pictures with a heartwarming note. It read, “And just like that she’s 30!!! Happy Birthday, @sydelcurrylee I love you!” We’ll never know, but Steph might have wished her earlier in person.
Additionally, Stephen Curry lives in San Francisco, California, whereas Sydel lives in Arizona. We aren’t too sure if he visited his sister since none of her or Ayesha’s stories showed him. The basketball player’s Instagram stories and posts too didn’t divulge any location.
But above all, Sydel’s husband, Damion Lee, made the most wholesome greeting to his better half. The 32-year-old guard, who’s won a championship alongside Stephen Curry, took to his IG and dropped a romantic picture of the couple in matching black outfits along with a moving caption. The caption read, “The most selfless person I know, so proud of who you are, an amazing wife & mom. Amazing sister and friend to many! So excited for you with this next chapter of your life, and I love being with you every step of the way.”

Before this wholesome bandwagon of social media posts by the Currys, Sydel had a fun girls’ night out as her pre-birthday celebration. Who would not want to know more about that?
Stephen Curry’s sister celebrates cowboy-styled pre-birthday party!
Yes, Sydel Curry had an exclusive idea to kick-start her 30s with a cowboy-styled party with only the ladies. It wasn’t just Sydel’s friends, but the party also included her mother, Sonya Curry, and Ayesha. The birthday girl shared a highlight reel from the party with a thumping caption, that read, “Straiighttt down the hatch for the 30th birthday trip in Jackson Hole.”
‘Straight down the hatch’ was the reference to the numerous shots that the women drank at the party. Heads up, the girl gang didn’t go the regular way to drink a shot. They did it in pairs, and Sydel was the repeating face in each pair! The uniqueness of the night doesn’t end there.
Each pair placed their shot glasses at both ends of a double-barrel gun, cowboy ref, and down it at the same time. Not to forget that Sydel kept a poker face through all her shots, while Ayesha had an odd reaction, hinting at the drink’s strong taste.
It’s quite a unique way to celebrate a birthday. Meanwhile, on the other end, Sydel’s brother, Stephen Curry, is all set to play his 16th season in the NBA. Looking at the Warriors‘ dominant run in preseason, do you think they have a chance at the ring? Let us know in the comments below.
