Steph “the Chef” Curry is one to feast your eyes upon in games. But what do you do when he just confirmed that he hasn’t been playing with 100% fitness? Millions across the globe had tuned in to catch up on one of the most celebrated rivalries in the NBA world, the Curry-Bron match-up. The hype was indeed real. However, the game didn’t really live up to its expectations. It was an exciting game to watch, but it didn’t deliver what the fans had expected, as both superstars had an underwhelming night. Especially, Steph went completely under the radar in the second half without scoring anything.

And adding fuel to the fire, Anthony Davis led the Lakers to a commanding 118-108 win and registered a 2-0 record against the Dubs this season. Steph, on the other hand, had a quiet game and struggled to shoot the ball with a taped-up thumb. He ended the game with 13 points with 9 assists and walked disappointedly into the locker room with his head down.

Speaking at the post-game presser, Stephen Curry dropped harsh reality to the Dub Nation regarding his injury situation. This season, the Baby-faced Assassin dealt with multiple injuries ranging from ankle, knee, and thumb. Out of which, the knee injury kept him out of action for a total of 5 games, including injury management. However, this wasn’t the nagging injury that troubled the superstar tonight. In fact, speaking of it, he confidently said, “It’s changing in the right direction… For me to play, I checked all boxes… I like where I am at.”

Meanwhile, Curry wasn’t happy with his thumb injury and he said, “It sucks” Moreover, he added how the injury kept creeping in every time he made progress in recovery. “It’s just something that’s been lingering to the point where it gets hit every once in a while… it’s almost gone and it’s not.” So, what’s next? (The Dubs have again fallen below .500.) Can the superstar carry his team with the lingering injury? Let’s find out.

Can Stephen Curry resurrect the Warriors from the ashes?

Personally, I felt the Warriors would make a return to form after the latest Chicago Bulls win. Coach Steve Kerr utilized his bench to good use and Quentin Post, the 7-foot big, showed promising, widening space on the floor. However, it all came crashing down when the physically dominant Lakers mowed down the team in the very next game.

So, the Warriors are back to square one. Once again, Kerr has to go inside his laboratory to develop a new strategy. Meanwhile, Stephen Curry, who had a rough night shooting the ball with a 4-17 record from the field, dropped a promising statement. While he seemed pretty irritated with his nagging thumb injury, he expressed the same amount of confidence, saying, “I’ll deal with it. It shouldn’t bother me.”

Moreover, when the reporter further asked if Steph hit the thumb and injured it, he sternly said, ” Every time it gets hit I step back but it’s just annoying… I’ll play through it.” Even after a tough loss, the superstar still showed confidence in the team.
