Apart from being one of the most sensational couples in the NBA, Stephen and Ayesha Curry are known for the many philanthropic endeavors they have undertaken over the years. From feeding millions of children during the pandemic to uplifting the lives of underprivileged students through their Eat. Learn. Play Foundation, the couple has now embarked on another journey to reduce childhood illiteracy.

Steph co-founded Unanimous Media with producer Erick Peyton in 2018 with the mission of uplifting and inspiring audiences with authentic stories about family, faith, and sports. Through this platform, Steph and Ayesha will join hands with directors Connor Martin and Mark Allen Johnson, to work on a special documentary.

In this exciting venture, Steph’s production company will be behind a new documentary titled ‘Sentenced‘. It will delve into the depths of childhood illiteracy, which has become an epidemic, clawing into the heart of society. Steph and Ayesha, who are longtime advocates for youth literacy will have their parts to play in the production of the documentary. While both will serve as producers, Steph will have a special role as the narrator for the entire film. It is supposed to be animmersive and vulnerable exploration of the epidemic of childhood illiteracy.

Grateful for their role in fighting the epidemic, the couple spoke about the project in a joint statement, “‘Sentenced’ is a powerful project that we are honored to be a part of, driving necessary conversations on the importance of childhood literacy, a haunting issue that was only intensified as a result of the pandemic.” The doc will explore the widespread problems of illiteracy through the eyes of children and adults who never learned how to read. This is just one of many philanthropic initiatives Steph and Ayesha have undertaken.

The couple’s goal was always centered around improving the lives of children and giving them more opportunities. With this in mind, they founded the Eat. Learn. Play Foundation in 2019, with a focus on enhancing the lives of children from California’s low-income neighborhoods in Oakland. Speaking on the initiative, Ayesha, “We knew our heart lay within the community. When it came to what we wanted to advocate for, for him, that was always education and being active. For me it was always food and childhood hunger.”

As early as his rookie year, Steph was known to distribute $100 bills in the Bay Area in the hopes of alleviating people’s lives. The Golden Boy found common ground with Ayesha, who also found great joy in helping the underprivileged. The two will always remain one of the favorite NBA couples thanks to their big hearts.
