The struggling Golden State Warriors again slipped back into a three-game losing streak after taking home a rare 5-game winning streak. The team developed new roles for youngsters to lift the team, but it wasn’t enough to save the sinking ship. As the clock starts ticking for the postseason, Dubs superstar Stephen Curry addressed the identity crisis of the most successful team in the last decade.

Problems kept mounting for the Dubs, as the big names failed to step up consistently, leaving Steve Kerr to produce new stars from the bench. Fortunately, the move came out positively for the 9x NBA Champion, as youngsters like Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and Brandin Podziemski made an impact. While it served its purpose to get those wins, the new change couldn’t win against big teams like the Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat, and Dallas Mavericks.

Stephen Curry opened up on the Dubs’ identity crisis

The Warriors are currently treading a route that they were never expected to travel in the past – to find a strong starting five. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green sailed the ship for a long time. But, the team veterans have failed to deliver for the team.

Steve Kerr tested a new line-up for the Saturday night game, bringing up Chris Paul from the bench. The line-up had Steph, Klay, CP3, Kuminga, and Trayce Jackson-Davis. The only positive from the game was that CP3 scored his season-high score of 24 points. Other than that, the team only tried to chase down the Mavs total throughout the game.

Following the loss against the Mavs, Steph took up some tough questions during the post-game press conference. One of the reporters asked him about the team’s continued hunt and the inability to find a reliable starting line-up. The 4x Champion said, “It’s the nature of this team… we’ve experimented a lot. Some for forced reasons, some for us, again, just searching for an identity… we haven’t found it collectively.”

On an individual level, it was only Steph who remained consistent with the buckets, but that also seemed to be a bit of a bother to the Dubs.

Steph breaks silence on his recent performances

Stephen Curry is arguably the best player the Warriors have ever produced. He was known for his consistent brilliance from the arc. Unfortunately, he lost the record streak of scoring at least a single 3-pointer after 268 games.

In tonight’s game as well, even though he scored 25 points, his FG percentage tells a different story, 9-25.

Addressing that, Steph said, “I’ve been in this situation before, where you start off hot and cool down a little bit. Even when my numbers are down, but my confidence always remains high. It’s hard to be perfect for all 82 but you still play the same way over the course of the season.”
