Giannis Antetokounmpo has never shied away from a faceoff, nor has Stephen A. Smith. Over the years, Smith has often landed in hot water for his passionate takes on basketball stars and has been a part of quite a few public feuds. Most notably, in recent memory, he has had a public tussle with Lonzo Ball, Kyrie Irving, and his dad. However, he might be in direct contact with the ‘Greek Freak’ now for some unsavory things he said.

A post on X shows Giannis quite frustrated at Smith’s words on his brother Thanasis’s show ‘Thanalysis’. “Wow You never know what to expect! I had a big surprise for the fans, and @Giannis_An34at Thanalysis Live show Thank you @StephenASmith for finally showing Milwaukee some love,” the caption stated.

In the clip, Thanasis shows the former MVP a clip. In it Stephen A. is asked, “Do you really wanna be in Milwaukee?”, the ESPN host replies, “I don’t believe I’ve ever rooted for Atlanta more in my life.” When asked to react to the clip, Giannis said, “He basically said that we couldn’t win,” with an angry expression. Just then, to everyone’s surprise, Smith stepped on stage to converse with Giannis.

Despite being greeted with “boos” by the crowd, the ESPN host had a calm demeanor and dapped up Giannis. So, how serious will this beef be? Probably not that serious because the Milwaukee Bucks are on their way to a successful post-season no matter who Smith roots for.

Will Giannis Antetokounmpo win his second ring?

The ‘Greek Freak’ is having one of the best stand-alone seasons of his career this year. Despite having Damian Lillard in the squad, Giannis is averaging a solid 30.8 points a night which is the third-best in the league. Even after not dominating as everyone expected them to, the Bucks are still the 2nd seed in the East. To top it all, they also had a mid-season coaching change, replacing Adrain Griffin for Doc Rivers, to address their defensive woes.

In the last 10 games, the Bucks are 6 wins to 4 losses which is not very strong but it’s a step in the right direction. If Lillard steps up to his usual shooting bravado rather than holding off, the Bucks still might have a chance to win the Eastern Conference finals.
