LeBron James, even at this age, makes sure he ruling both on and off the court. His on-court antics need no mention, but neither does his beef with the analyst Stephen A. Smith. To be honest, it takes a great deal of patience and understanding to be on the positive side of the media all the time, but now the King doesn’t care. For someone like him, he has all the pressure of the league being its face for the last two decades, but now the pressure is on defending the kid, and he seems to entertain no nonsense on this. The NBA community has rallied behind the Lakers’ number 23, but what about the Analysts’ community?

LBJ’s back-and-forth with SAS has been a spectacle to watch, almost boiling to the point of hatred. Both have lost even the morsel of respect they had for each other. This came especially after SAS, but the nepotism label on Bronny James, which led to multiple confrontations, both public and online. Well, all that has reached its peak with LeBron going on The Pat McAfee Show and giving scathing remarks concerning the recent developments of his image in the media.

Well for one, a legend like Michael Wilbon isn’t having enough of it. Why? “I refuse to even consume their beef. People are calling me and asking me about it. My son asked me about it. And I told him I didn’t care. There is too much ego involved on both sides of it. I don’t give a damn about the b******.” Fair enough, the 66-year-old veteran media person just wants his industry to get back to its glory days, rather than what he thinks of it now, “a piece of s*** a lot of days.”

This comes after he called out the current media for their ‘lack of accountability‘. After SAS’s rant about the Lakers’ superstar and when he was quoted as saying ‘us in the media‘, it doesn’t take a genius to add two and two together. Wilbon knows all the beef is ‘beneath‘ someone like LeBron James- so why does he still persist? But what’s more is: Wilbon is calling out James for his diss on longtime reporter Brian Windhorst!

“Windhorst comments bother me”– Michael Wilbon on LeBron James’ diss

That sit-down interview with Pat McAfee might’ve put Bron’s public image in the bin. Not only did Wilbon call him out for wasting his time with SAS, but he just couldn’t handle the unnecessary digs the King took at Brian Windhorst.

What’s your perspective on:

Is LeBron's feud with Stephen A. Smith overshadowing his legacy, or is it just media noise?

Have an interesting take?

After Brian went to ESPN to talk about LeBron James’ true intentions of signing with Nike and wearing the number. 23 on the court (due to Michael Jordan), Bron labeled him ‘weird’ for calling him his best friend. “I see Brian Windhorst on one of these shows not too long ago. The guy who says he’s like my (expletive) best friend. These guys … it’s weird.” The straight shooter that Wilbon is, he made sure to clear his chest on it by calling out Bron.

“Brian is in a tough spot. He takes his job seriously. Brian is accountable, which a lot of people in this business today are not. And that pisses me off. Look, Brian is not a show monkey. He is not out here drawing attention to himself with some ego or agenda. Brian Windhorst is great at what he does. Great, Bobby. And I will vouch for him anytime, against anyone. And if I were talking to LeBron right now, I’d say that to his face.”

This looks even tougher now that Brian has taken the high road with the situation. “LeBron doesn’t owe me anything. I owe him a lot. He has been a great friend to my hometown and my alma mater. That I would stand on.” Maybe not the proudest for someone as clean as the King.
