Curry's alcohol venture: A smart move or a risky distraction from his basketball legacy?

Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha have had quite an eventful summer this year. It seems the two have taken a pledge to provide for the community in full swing. Recently, Steph and Ayesha partnered with former first lady, Michelle Obama to launch the PLEZi initiative. They also have big plans for promoting PLEZi nutrition in the future, though they haven’t revealed them just yet. Nevertheless, Curry remains committed to changing the lives of younger athletes.

It’s only been a few days since Steph and Ayesha announced that they’ll be contributing $25 million to their foundation—Eat, Learn, and Play—over the next five years. But as of now, Curry’s Underrated Tour will kick off its championship from September 2nd to 4th. This tour aims to help youth build careers on the course, but the objectives don’t end there. “Networking, character development, workforce training, opening their eyes to different industries or different careers outside of just playing golf, so changing lives in that way.”, Steph said.

Recently, Curry shared a new edition of his whiskey, Gentleman’s Cut Bourbon on his Instagram story. This particular version is the Underrated Curry Cup exclusive. There’s no doubt that these will be available to explore at the Curry Cup Party on September 4th. Just about three months ago, Curry’s Gentleman’s Cut released a Player Exclusive Bourbon with only 100 bottles for sale. The Curry Cup exclusive might also be a limited edition, as seen from his story.

On the other hand, the Curry Cup finale will be played at Ridgewood Country Club in New Jersey. Not only that but the Final event is scheduled for 12 long hours from 9 AM to 9 PM. Curry’s life-changing promise has finally shown colors and is one of the many aims that impact the youth’s lives. This event for example will not only feature young golfers from the US, but also Europe. Steph’s efforts to impact lives off the court don’t seem to take a break after all.

Have an interesting take?

A few days ago, Curry and his foundation celebrated the 5th Annual Workday Charity Classic event, which aimed at helping over 10,000 children read and learn with a planned objective to encourage one-on-one tutoring for Oakland’s students. Not only that, but this event also featured Steph and his foundation helping kids learn how to play golf. The Chef has not only provided for his community through his Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, but also through various sports.

When it comes to basketball, Curry’s Under Armour camp has helped several unranked prospects make a name for themselves among big-time college scouts. And of course, his Select Camp which features elite players from all over the country provides mentorship to the upcoming superstars. But this year, the Chef did not solely focus on his basketball camps. Instead, the four-time champ decided to extend his contributions to the community alongside his wife.

It will be interesting to see what the couple has planned for the future, as they continue to look after their foundation. What are your thoughts on Stephen Curry’s impact on youth off the court? Let us know in the comments.
