There’s another reason to call Nikola Jokić a basketball mastermind. However, Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert suspect foul play in the latest instance. Tonight, the NBA world witnessed the recap of the 2024 West semi-final series. The intense series went deep into Game 7 and Ant-Man & Co. emerged victorious. Even today, the Wolves edged passed a close 119-116 win. Despite the win, the Joker’s particular play has left the Minnesota locker room in jitters.
Speaking to the press after the game, Gobert shared exciting information from the fourth quarter. The big man revealed that Jokic knew a play charted at the Wolves bench, saying, “Jokic knew the play, but we didn’t say anything. He knew the play better than us.” And from the background, Edwards screamed, “Nobody said nothing.”
The rising star further went on to reveal the play as well, saying, ” It was three minutes left in the fourth… Right after the timeout, Me and Rudy lined up and this motherf****r said (inaudible). How the fu*k did he know… That ***** is cheating bro.” And to sum it up, Gobert jokingly said, “Yeah we got to run for investigation,” leaving the reporters to have a good laugh!

Up until the four-minute mark in the last quarter, the Nuggets held a 10-point lead, and it seemed as if the visitors would slip away with a win. On top of it, the Joker threatened Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert with an impressive play, showing off his basketball IQ. Nevertheless, it was the Wolves, who had the last laugh.

The home team produced a comeback run, spearheaded by Edwards himself. The shooting guard sunk a 26-footer and followed it up with a crafty layup. Along with some help, the Wolves held a 3-point, leaving the Nuggets in a tough spot.

Did Nikola Joki? just outsmart the Timberwolves, or is there something more sinister at play?

Nikola Jokić lacked support heading into the second half. The Serbian big’s wingman, Jamal Murray, sustained a head injury, and the team ruled him out for the rest of the game due to concussion protocol. While Murray didn’t make any impact in the game with poor shooting form, the team badly needed his presence at the end.

With 9 seconds left on the clock, the Nuggets needed a three-pointer to tie the game. Bubble Murray has enough examples of making the clutch buckets, but this time, Jokic had to do it himself. It’s not like the big man hadn’t made clutch threes. Last season, Jokic drained a 39-foot game-winning buzzer-beater against the Warriors to take a 130-127 win.
Tonight, the Nuggets center confidently drove the ball into the play with Rudy Gobert guarding all over him. Notably, the French big man has an infamous history of Luka Doncic draining a game-winning three-pointer in the 2024 Conference Finals. However, it wasn’t the case this time. Jokic’s shot hit the rim, and the Wolves stole a famous win. Next up, both teams will once again clash at the same place in January. So, we may expect a payback? What do you think?
