Stephen Curry left a stern message to all the “Twitter fingers” last night, and guess what, tonight, we have the aftereffect. The trade rumor mill has constantly dragged the Golden State Warriors along, over the last few weeks, especially with regard to the Jimmy Butler fiasco in Miami. While there hasn’t been any visible breakthrough, the Splash Bro had made it clear that he wasn’t a fan of “desperate” moves. And now we have the latest update on the Dubs’ stance about Butler and other frontcourt aspirations.
First and foremost, Hoopshype’s Michael Scotto reported that the Bay’s interest in wing targets Jimmy Butler and Cam Johnson has “decreased,“ according to his sources. This could’ve been just another trade update, but it’s all about the timing. Before defeating the Wolves, Steph dropped a candid presentation where he surprisingly said he didn’t want any quick fixes to hamper the team’s future.
After defeating the Wolves in a close game last night, though, Stephen Curry made a bold warning to the spin doctors and showed confidence that the team can “beat anybody.” He added, “All the Twitter fingers who’s got deals that we need to make can kind of just shut up a little bit and let us figure this thing out… Like, we know we can be competitive.” Currently standing in the 10th seed, 20-20, the Dubs would need a special move to turn it around. Amid the star’s conflicting condition, there’s a chance for a turnaround.

The front office seems to be on a mission to strengthen the team’s frontcourt. According to Scotto, the Dubs have continued their run in the trade market and have “inquired” about the frontcourt units like Nikola Vučević, John Collins, Jonas Valančiūnas, and Robert Williams.
Importantly, with Trayce Jackson Davis and Kevon Looney already on the roster, it will be interesting to watch who will make way for the new big man.
Will the Dubs go the distance to help Stephen Curry win another chip?

Number 5 is indeed a golden number, even though it’s one short of Michael Jordan’s 6 six rings. Anyway, it will still help Stephen Curry find a permanent place in the legacy land. Not that he doesn’t have one currently. But still. So, is the Bay willing to make moves to help him win again? In fact, we can add Draymond Green to the question! The answer is yes, but at the same time, Michael Scotto reported that the team wants to give them another shot at the ring but also “won’t mortgage future assets just to make a trade.”
Moreover, ESPN’s Marc Spears foreshadowed the latest update a week ago where he claimed the team’s priority has moved away from Jimmy Butler and focussed on getting a big man. The team has been undersized and a big scorer in the center will make the difference.

On the other hand, Jimmy Butler, who made a massive noise with his controversial press meeting has been quiet since then. More importantly, the hoopster’s trade targets continue to fade away every passing day. Where do you think he would end up? Will he stay with the Heat after all the drama? Let us know in the comments.
