You mess with Stephen Curry, you mess with Draymond Green. That’s the unspoken rule. But last Saturday, things played out differently. As the Warriors’ leader walked by the Pistons’ bench, Isaiah Stewart gave him a subtle push. And it quickly escalated into a verbal altercation, as Curry wasn’t in the mood to tolerate the push. Soon, others from the Pistons’ bench rushed in to break it up, but Draymond was nowhere in sight.
A video is going viral on X, showing the moment the altercation unfolded. The clip reveals that Draymond Green only shook hands with Curry after everything was settled and Curry was walking back. Was it a move to avoid further trouble on the court, knowing Draymond’s history of antics? Or was it that Isaiah Stewart proved to be more than he could handle?
The Knicks’ official page shared the post with the caption, “Soft-spoken players are ‘the type Draymond Green attempts to troll or bully,’ according to a league source, ‘noting Green didn’t exactly run to Stephen Curry’s defense when Detroit’s hard-nosed Isaiah Stewart shoved Curry away from their bench last week.'”

This started after Knicks columnist Steve Popper pointed out that Karl-Anthony Towns and the New York team brushed off Draymond’s comments about the 7-footer, seemingly ignoring them completely.

Earlier this month, when the two sides met, KAT was surprisingly scratched from the roster at the last minute, with the reason being stated as personal. After securing the win at Madison Square Garden, Draymond Green addressed it on The Draymond Green Show, saying, “That was a big game for us. And obviously, they ain’t have KAT. Some would say he didn’t play because Jimmy was in the building. I don’t know… You know him and Jimmy had the infamous practice in Minnesota.” That was a reference to their Timberwolves days under now-Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau.
Back in 2018, KAT and Jimmy had an infamous practice session feud when the latter was allegedly looking for a trade. This incident sparked public tension, ultimately leading to Jimmy’s escape route to Philadelphia. But it’s in the past now, the Knicks star has already confirmed that.
Actually, the reason for KAT’s absence in the game was the tragic loss of someone close to him and his girlfriend Jordyn Woods, which Draymond was unaware of when the episode aired. So, Towns’ teammate called out Draymond for his embarrassing act.

Did Draymond Green dodge the Curry-Stewart clash, or was he just playing it smart?

Josh Hart calls out Draymond Green for his comments on Karl-Anthony Towns
After the real reason came to light, Draymond Green faced significant criticism for his remark. Josh Hart made it clear that the Knicks were moving on from the situation, but he also expressed that he expected the 4x champion to apologize for his actions.
“I think KAT handled it the right way. For me I have my own podcast and all that stuff,” said the Knicks swingman, according to Stefan Bondy’s report. “Whenever I’m wrong about something I’ll sit there and say I was (wrong). For me, I wish he kind of did that, just apologized. You don’t get to be embarrassed or feel like apologizing when you’re wrong isn’t manly. I wish he did. Now that’s in the past and we’re moving on.”Draymond Green took responsibility for his remarks after the Nets game on that same road trip. When a reporter brought up the real reason, he quickly said, “Oh, man, that’s unfortunate. I’m sorry to hear that. That s—-.” And further explained that his comments were based on what he had heard at the time.
With all of this coming out now, it’s hard not to wonder how things will heat up when the rivals meet tonight in the Bay Area. One thing’s for sure, the game will be an entertaining one, with KAT ready to lace up and probably make up for his absence last time.
