“Some Missouri S**t!?”: Ty Lue’s Unique Postgame Look Amazes Paul George and Clippers Nation

The LA Clippers demolished the Miami Heat 121-104 tonight. Kawhi Leonard was at his finest once again after missing four games with a hip contusion. But it was the Clippers coach, Ty Lue, who stole the show post-game. Sporting what was apparently a 70s-themed birthday look, Paul George couldn’t help his surprised reaction.

What immediately came to his mind was, “Some Missouri sh*t!?” And that’s when his coach explained what he was actually going for. PG13 immediately pacified him, saying that it looked really good. But it has got the internet in splits too. The Athletic‘s Murray posted the video with the comment, “This guy T Lue lol.”

Another hardcore Clippers fan couldn’t believe that Coach Lue actually wore the outfit.

Another user seems to be confused as to what to make of the look.

Not to worry as there are a few fellow users who have come up with suggestions. One is of the opinion that Ty was going for a Willy Wonka look.

Another one looks to be a Marvel comics fan, as he straightaway goes for Green Goblin.

Anyway, Ty himself had cleared the doubts when he said he was going for a ’70s theme. Plus, the Clippers won the game against the Heat. His excitement was quite reflected in his chirpy mood while talking to George. While Miami might have been short-handed, LA certainly wasn’t.

Seeing as how they struggled so much initially and after James Harden, to finish December with West’s best record (11-2), is a testament to their determination and hard work. Many predicted the ensuing chaos when Harden would take the floor, but in true “Beard” fashion, he answered with his actions. Accepting whatever role was assigned to him and playing together to get that title has spoken volumes.

Going back to Lue’s outfit for the night, many NBA athletes are known for their impeccable sense of fashion (read: SGA). With the league relaxing the rules on dress code, many of the coaches have gone for athleisure. So, let’s take a look at some of the best-dressed coaches in NBA history.

It’s a crime to start the list without giving the first place to NBA’s very own “Godfather”. Holding the position of the President of the Miami Heat, the 3x recipient of the NBA Coach of the Year award was a sight for sore eyes. In fact, his whole look was what contributed to his nickname.

Arriving with a perfect tan, slicked-back hair, and Armani suits, Riley was nothing short of a pop culture figure. There is no doubt the man would have an impressive modeling career and even a signature line of clothes in an alternate universe.

Believe it or not, Ty Lue is also considered one of the best-dressed coaches, especially when suits were a requirement. But his athleisure wear isn’t all too bad either. Yet, nobody carries both formal and athleisure gracefully as well as Steve Kerr. Cutting a dashing figure in a suit, the Arabian magic is too powerful to dismiss.
