It was a battle of the No. 1 picks last night in New Orleans. Anthony Edwards and Co. visited the Pelicans, aiming to add another win to their column. Well, it should have been an easy day at work for the Wolves, considering the Pels have been awful this season and own the worst record in the West. However, Zion Williamson’s return after a lengthy hiatus made it a tough challenge for Ant-Man’s squad. And the atmosphere instantly got heated as the two superstars were constantly chirping at each other throughout the game.

Turns out, their trash-talk was rather X-Rated!

In a leaked transcribed video that is now going viral, Edwards can be seen mocking the Pels talisman by yelling “Foul!” after Julius Randle draws a foul on the New Orleans star during a drive. Williamson, though, quickly responds with, “That sh*t is soft as f*ck. That sh*t is soft as f*ck.” Continuing the back and forth, Ant-Man yells at Zion’s face yet again, “Foul n****!”

Throughout their verbal altercation, Zion looked very serious while Edwards had a smirk on his face as he sat back on the bench. Even his teammates were seen laughing. Of course, it didn’t stop there. Soon after, Edwards began yelling “foul” from the bench repeatedly when Nickeil Alexander-Walker drew contact with Zion and made a layup. However, the referee did not blow the whistle at that time.

Anthony Edwards was probably just trying to throw Zion Williamson off his game, hoping to capitalize on the fact that this was his first time on the court since Nov 6. Yes, Zion had been out for 27 games with a left hamstring strain. Although he had a solid comeback performance, Ant’s antics worked in his team’s favor as the Wolves won the game by 7 points, and Edwards finished with 32.

While Edwards was constantly chirping at Zion from the bench, the Pels forward got his revenge when Ant was on the floor. In a play that became the highlight of the night, he stole the ball from the Wolves star and threw down a reverse windmill dunk, sending the crowd and his teammates into a frenzy. Even Williamson himself was hyped after the play. When asked about his intention behind the dunk, the hoopster clarified postgame, “Have fun.”

Moreover, the Pels talisman also revealed how it felt to be back after two months, “It felt great to be back out there with my teammates and you know to be able to play in front of our fans… Definitely feel like my legs are already under me. Now it’s just in-game rhythm. But don’t got time to take three to five games for that, just gotta figure it out as quick as possible.”

Yes, Zion Williamson needs to find his groove quickly because his New Orleans side is struggling and does not have much time to turn their season around. Although he scored 22 points last night, his team added yet another loss to their column.

But it was good to see Zion and Ant go head-to-head because it showed that the Pelicans forward was back in it and ready for the challenge, aiming to miraculously boost his team to playoff contention. Do you think he can do it? What a story that’d be!
