The uncountable disruptions in the market of sports are evident in the 21st century. Soccer witnessed the same in the summer transfer window of 2023 as global stars kept getting swept away from Europe. Neymar Jr. became the latest addition to the list – and his wages make the $304 million contract of NBA star Jaylen Brown?look insignificant.

The Brazilian star would be leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after landing a lucrative offer. In comparison to his Saudi contract offer alongside additional perks, the Boston Celtics star’s record-breaking NBA extension seems dwarfed.

Last month, the Celtics guard reportedly agreed to a super-max $304 million contract extension with his franchise, as per CBS Sports. His record-breaking extension will pay him slightly over $60 million every year on average. Starting from the 2024-25 NBA season, he will receive an all-time high 10% annual jump on his salary, earning a little more than $69 million in his final year.

In comparison, Neymar’s $88 million transfer fee to move to the Saudi club, Al-Hilal will help him earn $326 million in just two years, as reported by L?EQUIPE. He will be paid a ridiculous $3.36 million every week during his time in Saudi. To make it more comprehensible, he would pocket around $480k per day – $20k per hour and $330 every minute.

In addition to his salary, Neymar Jr. would receive additional perks such as a private plane and an enormous house with staff. After each win, he would get a bonus of more than $87k. His contract comes with even social media perks, as he would be paid more than $500k per post or story that promotes the Saudi league.

His contract is bigger than the player and the league. He will act as a sort of ambassador of soccer for the nation. All in all, not only in terms of wages but also impact, Neymar Jr.’s deal with Al-Hilal dwarfs Brown’s extension.
