Lionel Messi pulled off something close to that with his recent deal with Apple. The global tech giant which has the exclusive streaming rights of MLS, signed a deal with the consideration customer acquisition. Many found the deal ‘unusual’ and ‘unprecedented’, reported ESPN. 

However, Rich Paul had a different point of view. Featuring in the latest episode of The Town with Matthew Belloni, Paul hailed Messi’s deal. He said, “He is getting a piece of their (Apple) subscriber number… I thought that (Deal) was great. ” He further went on to talk about the specifics of the deal, talking about the viewership generating potential of the superstar.

Furthermore, Paul also suggested a tip to Messi: “I would get paid for the butter & popcorn in the arenas. There are certain rules for certain guys. Certain guys is just the box office.”
