Europe has continued to churn out some of the finest sporting talent. The focus on fundamentals remains prevalent across the boards. In fact, arguably three of the top five players in the NBA belong to Europe. Whether it is Serbian Nikola Jokic, who is the reigning champion. Or it is Giannis Antetokounmpo who has multiple MVPs like Jokic and also has a championship. Apart from that, Luka Doncic, one of the faces of the league has just begun earning major accolades.

But when the mention of Europe and sporting talent comes, how can we forget soccer? The most popular game in the world! In this wake, one of the European soccer legends shows off his hooping skills and challenges Doncic to a game.

Challenging Doncic to a hoops game? That needs a lot of guts. We are talking about someone who can score 30 points a game and drop triple-doubles almost every other game. The Superstar has yet to win a championship but has done a lot with less. However, this didn’t stop one of Cristiano Ronaldo’s former Real Madrid teammates from issuing a challenge.

An incredible footballer who is one of the best midfielders to play the game and has five Champions League titles. Croatian football phenom Luka Modric showed off his incredible basketball skillset.

In a video posted by the official Instagram handle of Dallas Mavericks, Modric begins by saying, ”Luka, I challenge you”. Then the embedded text says, ”Luka Modric getting buckets”.

The Midfield magician showcases his prolific basketball repertoire. He starts by nailing a side-step jumper, then he swishes a corner three. And then the soccer superstar finishes with a layup at the end of the video.

It is clear that the Croatian enjoys hooping a lot. But he shares one peculiar connection with the Mavericks faithful.
