After having a disappointing season in the NBA, Steph Curry is making big moves outside the basketball realm. The 4x champion might have lost at his game but has started dominating in another. At the American Century Championship, the Baby Faced Assassin became the fifth person in the event’s history to ever hit a hole-in-one and win the celebrity golf tournament.

Even after Rory McIIroy won his 25th PGA Tour at the Scottish Open by hitting an 11-foot put, all the eyes are on Curry’s hole-in-one and iconic celebratory run.

At the 2023 Lake Tahoe Golf Championship (ACC), Stephen Curry was on top of the leaderboard just after 2 rounds. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Yankees CC Sabathia, Roger Clemens, Nets star Vince Carter, Patrick Mahomes, John Smoltz, John Elway, Jerry Rice, and former vice president Dan Quayle all participated in the tournament. Even the 3x ACC Champion Tony Romo was back to defend his title. With an outstanding hole-in-one, Curry secured the trophy and a cash prize of $125,000.

After his victory, Curry shared that he has always wanted to win a tournament at golf and today he fulfilled his dream by adding a trophy of a different sport to his cabinet.

As Curry is infamously popular for his long-range shots at the NBA, he said it was a dream to hit a 152-yard shot and secure the win. “Knowing what the stakes were and accepting it, I’ve always dreamt of a situation like this on the 18th green in front of a crowd like that, to make the putt,” he said.

When people asked Curry if he will retire from basketball and play golf professionally, he said, “Have y’all seen those CBA terms in the NBA? Life is good in the league so, I’ll be alright.”

In 2006 Mcllroy won his final Open title, known for his remarkable ball-striking performance with only one driver shot over 72 holes on dry fairways. From the heartbreaking moment of being inches away from a historic putt at the U.S. Open to the breathtaking rollercoaster of emotions at The Memorial, with the gut-wrenching disappointment of missing the cut at The Masters, McIIroy’s season has been a captivating tale of triumph and retribution.

Despite his great season, Mcllroy is not getting the recognition he should be, apparently because of the celebrity-studded tournament. The ACC was the highlight and had all the eyes of avid sports watchers where Curry managed to put a 152-yard hole-in-one to win the championship and became the center of attention.
