Bronny James has been following in his father’s footsteps to achieve greatness. He is a four-star recruit and is ranked as one of the top players in the class of 2024. However, a sudden cardiac arrest during a practice session at the University of Southern California on July 24, 2023, brought Bronny’s basketball journey to a sudden halt and had family and fans worrying about his health. 

Now, 69 days after the worrying event, LeBron James has provided an update on his son’s condition and his basketball future.

Bronny James’ Road to Recovery

LeBron James recently shared that Bronny is doing extremely well and has begun his rehabilitation process with the aim of returning to the court this season. He also confirmed that Bronny had a successful surgery. 

“We’re happy to see where he is and what his future still has in store for him. “Bronny is doing extremely well. He’s began his rehab to get back on the floor this season.” LeBron said.

The cardiac arrest was identified as being caused by a congenital heart defect. Bronny lost consciousness during the event and received initial treatment from the team’s medical staff before being taken to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center. He was released later that week and since then he has been in stable condition.

Bronny’s promising basketball prospect 

Despite the setback, Bronny’s prospects in basketball remain promising. He is currently ranked as the 34th-best player in his class. Some analysts predict that he could fall to the second round of the draft, while others believe he’s a surefire lottery pick. LeBron’s dream of playing with his son in the NBA could soon be possible.

Bronny has already begun his senior season at USC known for its strong basketball program. His performance this season will be crucial in determining his prospects for the NBA draft.

“on track” and “doing very well” in his recovery journey.

Bronny made his first appearance after the cardiac arrest with LeBron and Drake in an LA concert. He was spotted playing basketball with his father later. As he is making progress in his recovery, Bronny is likely to be back on practice sessions at USC.
