Get impressionable minds on the court, give them a taste of the NBA, and voilà, you get future NBA stars in the making. A much better alternative than young kids looking for excitement in all the wrong places. With preseason games right around the corner, Jordan Poole and the Wizards are working hard.

The Wizards and LaMelo Balls’ Hornets will meet in 6 days for a preseason game. With Washington always having an upper hand over Charlotte, Poole and co. are preparing to keep that streak steady. Hornets are yet to win a ring and though it’s been ages since the Wizards’ first title, this is a season that is going to have as many twists and turns as possible.

What the Wizards had in mind when bringing in Poole

Young at the core, the Wizards will do well having someone with championship experience on their side. He and Kyle Kuzma are in line to be the Wizards’ primary scoring options. Moving out of the shadows of players like Curry and Thompson, the Wizards provide Poole with the chance to emerge as the face of a $2.5 billion franchise.

Poole is coming off a career year in which he averaged 20.4 points, 4.5 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game. He shot 43.0% overall and 33.6% from long range. Having played 76 games two years ago and all 82 games last season, he is in great shape. He and Kuzma will now likely form the core of the Wizards’ offense and as key leaders in the locker room.
