An athlete’s desire to make himself look better than others often breeds mockery that sparks controversy. The NBA world witnessed the same recently from a Charlotte Hornets player. The 22-year-old publicly disrespected legends of the game like Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Shaquille O’Neal.

Surprisingly, only six days after that incident, an NBA veteran analyst backed him up. He praised the basketball star openly, adding an extra layer to the ongoing drama.

In the latest episode of The Lowe Post, the host Zach Lowe discussed the recent happenings around Kai Jones. The social media activities have put him and his franchise under a bad spotlight as he even badmouthed his teammates. “That’s not gonna go over well in the locker room,” Lowe mentioned, highlighting the potentially detrimental effects.

Zach hinted at Jones possibly losing his starting position because of it before the conversation took a different turn. The 46-year-old shared his experience of watching the forward from the stands in one of the previous season’s games. He had high praise for Kai as he stated, “You can’t take your eyes off of him”.

According to Lowe, Jones possessed an immense amount of “freneticism”. That’s why, he mentioned, “You never know what Kai Jones is gonna do”. The sportswriter even admired the youngster’s qualities, saying, “Athletically, he is off the charts”. This was all well and good, but the timing of his words raised eyebrows. Kai has been on a spree in the past week, as his actions offended many. This entire scenario gives rise to an interesting environment.

In a comparison of shooting abilities, Jones put himself ahead of MJ. He claimed to have better mid-range than the 6-time champions as he commented, “I hit middy better than mike wym”. As the owner of the organization, Mike is yet to respond to the entire situation.

Despite selling the majority of his Hornets’ ownership stake, Jordan remains part of the franchise as a minority holder. So, these remarks from Kai could well have repercussions. Hopefully, the Bahamian basketball star was aware of those before sharing such derogatory opinions online.
