In their matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, the duel between Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama captured the attention of both fans and the media. However, there were moments that suggested a potential future clash between them would be nothing short of an intense and energized spectacle. With five players from each team reaching double-digit scoring, it was Denver that had the last say against the Spurs; winning 132-120.

The Spurs closely trailed the Nuggets in offensive efficiency; even matching them in free throw attempts (25 to Denver’s 26). Despite lacking on the defensive boards, they nearly equaled the Nuggets on the offensive glass with 10 rebounds (Nuggets had 11). Moreover, they excelled in turnovers and steals. However, the Nuggets’ roster seemed visibly thrilled to be back home, and it showed throughout the game.
Right from the start, the Nuggets’ defense had clamps planned for the Spurs. As rotations unfolded, their bench continued to seize opportunities and tenaciously contest shots; with Peyton Watson particularly standing out. As a result, the Nuggets found numerous chances to create and widen the score as the game progressed.
The Nuggets now boast an undefeated record at home. Moving ahead, they will carry this momentum to LA for a matchup against the Clippers. Right away, they return home to face the Rockets before embarking on another set of road games.
