Having the ultimate supporter and biggest fan in your boyfriend makes conquering even the toughest challenges easy – something Jordyn Woods has been blessed with! The 27-year-old is a talented singer, but Woods wasn’t confident enough to take the next step. Of course, those following the socialite would know that she tried her hand on Fox’s Masked Singer in 2019. And it was quite a success, too, given the positive reception.
While it did allow her to come out of her shell, it hadn’t been enough to step out of her comfort zone. And that’s where Karl-Anthony Towns comes in. Dropping a snippet of her R&B love song, Be With You, in mid-May to celebrate the couple’s fourth anniversary, the reception was overwhelmingly positive (currently amassed nearly 4M views!).
In fact, popular rapper Vince Staples commented, “Drop the album,” which Woods admitted in an exclusive to Billboard was the ultimate goal. “Maybe an EP, an album, who knows? The possibilities are endless. And I think with the positive response, why not keep putting out music? I already have a bunch of songs recorded,” she said.

And now, she took to Instagram with a heartwarming message for her fans and a little backstory about how it all came to be. “I made this song a while ago for mine and Karl’s anniversary and during the summer I decided I really wanted to shoot the music video for fun! It definitely took me out of my comfort zone but I feel like that’s how the best growth happens,” she confessed.
“I had an amazing team help me put this together basically overnight and it’s finally on my YouTube channel! I hope you guys love this little thing we did. 🤍 Some of you know I was on the masked singer in 2019 and got to hear my voice for the first time. This song is just for vibes, I’m not sure if we’ll get an actual “singing” song out of me or not…” she finished, leaving it open-ended, no doubt referring to future possibilities.

For now, though, Jordyn Woods independently released her debut single, Be With You, on October 31 on all digital streaming platforms. It was produced by Grammy-nominated producer MyGuyMars. In her Billboard interview, Woods further revealed that it was a mutual friend who knew her interest in pursuing music that connected the pair. From there, the duo took off, putting in work at his recording studio in Van Nuys, California.
Circling back to Towns, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that the now-Knicks star played an important role in helping his girlfriend get to the point where she had the courage to take the next step.

While the inspiration for Woods’ initial snippet was KAT, he was also the motivation for her to get there. “He’s one of the biggest people to motivate me to get in the studio to make music because he knows that I can and that I’m just scared,” she revealed. But Towns wasn’t just all words. The man got right down to business when it became clear that Jordyn wasn’t going to take the plunge.
The fact that he knew his girlfriend was just as competitive as he also helped. “The first song I actually recorded, we went to the studio together. And we’re both very competitive. I was getting really scared to get in the booth, and he was like, ‘Oh, well, I bet I can go in the other studio and record a song.’ And I’m like, ‘OK, bet! It’s a competition: Let’s see who finishes their song first.’ I ended up finishing my song and that was my motivation to just say ‘f—k it’ and get in the booth,” she explained.
It certainly did the trick! She is clearly proud of her achievement. And now has the confidence to pursue her passion further. The IG model also hinted that we could expect an “album or five singles by the end of this year”. However, Woods also pointed out an important aspect that she would live by for the foreseeable future.

“I’m definitely more of an independent artist type of person where I don’t want anyone to force me or ruin it for me. I want to have full leverage and creativity on exactly what I want to do.”
There’s no doubt that we are in for unique and authentic music from Jordyn Woods as she prepares to release her album. Or singles.
