Not long ago there was a time when other teams used to fear Anthony Davis’ presence. What has changed since then for them to not take the 8x All-Star seriously? With the Los Angeles Lakers facing the Philadelphia 76ers, this chiefly is one thing that is making the news.

The Sixers’ forward Paul Reed opened up on his views about AD, and you will be surprised to know what he thinks about ‘The Brow’. Reed called him a “big flopper” ahead of their face-off. This was brought to the Sixers coach Nick Nurse during a pre-match media conference, where he calmly managed the situation.

When Nick was asked about Reed’s take on Davis, he was completely taken aback. The clipping of this interview is present in an X post by Sixers writer Kyle Neubeck. Nurse said, “That’s news to me. I’m going to have to go talk to Paul about that immediately after this.”

He did not stop at just that and went further to praise AD. Nurse said that AD is super skilled and super talented, and they will obviously aim at blocking him. He acknowledges the fact that if they give him the space, he will destroy them. Indeed, a nice measure taken by the coach after Reed’s comment. What exactly did Reed say about AD?

Reed mentioned that he won’t be too aggressive against AD because he might use that as an advantage. “He’s a big flopper so make sure I don’t get in foul trouble early by any. I can’t be too aggressive with him,” said Reed. He added, “He’s gonna be flailing so I gotta make sure I stay out of foul trouble.”

Darvin Ham’s reaction to Reed’s comment

Lakers coach Darvin Ham was asked to comment about Reed’s take as well. Ham, having utmost confidence in his big man, refrained from making any unnecessary comment. He did, however, remind Paul Reed that he was going to face him in the match. “I really don’t have one. He’s got to go guard him, I guess. Best of luck, Paul,” said Ham.

The game is running in the third quarter, and the Sixers are sitting with a comfortable lead of 84-65. AD could gather only 12 points so far.
