Jaylen Brown felt really good when he knocked down a tough one over Stephen Curry in the third quarter. He extended his celebration with the infamous “too small” gesture on Steph’s face. Unfortunately for Brown, the happiness didn’t last long as the Warriors–Celtics game moved into overtime.
The OT saw Curry hit a difficult layup contested by Jaylen Brown. As he was walking back, Steph did not forget to give back in kind.

Talking about the whole experience post-game, Brown said, “It’s the league. Shit happens. Gotta get ready for the next one.” Well, that’s one way to look at things, isn’t it?

But it shouldn’t be a surprise, considering that the two have had a bit of a squabble in JB’s rookie days. It was 2017 and Brown’s first match against the Warriors dynasty. Landing a three-pointer, Steph had made a ‘stop talking’ gesture at him and since then, it has been subtle digs and jabs at each other.
Averaging 28.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists this season, Curry has a 41.6% success in three-point shooting. Add to it that Steph just passed the 3500th mark for three-pointers made during the game against the Nets, Brown’s block and the subsequent celebration must have hit hard.
Steph’s foul trouble didn’t provide much incentive for Boston
The mid of the third quarter saw ‘Chef Curry’ with five foul troubles. The Celtics star duo, Tatum-Brown, looked to capitalize on drawing more fouls. But the 2x MVP didn’t bother with niceties as he took over the game. Showcasing another one of his phenomenal clutch performances, the 6’2 guard send the Celtics to sleep.

Only 10 seconds on the clock in overtime and Curry was in a do or die situation. Derrick White was right in front of him, driving towards him at full speed, when Steph threw caution to the winds and just let fly.

The result was a 132-126 win over the ‘Bay State’. But Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown in the fourth quarter were mediocre at best. Scoring just 15 points in 41 minutes of game time, Tatum had rolled his ankle in the first quarter. He did return about four minutes later to begin the second quarter, but maybe the ankle was causing him problems.
Derrick White led the scoreboard with 30 points, with JB right behind him at 28 points. Al Horford took the fourth place with a double-double (13 points and 12 rebounds). Except for Sam Hauser, everyone scored in double digits in the Celtics team tonight.
Nevertheless, the Dub Nation claimed tonight’s victory!
