The NBA has seen several legendary rivalries in its rich history. However, there have only been a few as fierce as the one between LeBron James and Stephen Curry. The two NBA Top 75 List members were leaders of two teams that were considered to be inevitable in the mid to late 2010s. The James led Cleveland Cavaliers faced off against Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors 4 times in the Finals between 2015-2018. Thus began one of the most historic rivalries in the NBA.
LeBron James and Stephen Curry have shared an intense rivalry on the court. Their constant finals matchups have often evoked several reactions from the NBA world. One such reaction also came from Stephen’s wife, Ayesha Curry in 2016. 7 years after this incident however, Curry has taken a subtle jab on The King, which also got a reaction the veteran NBA analyst, Nick Wright.

LeBron James and Stephen Curry met 4 times in the Finals during James’ Cleveland Cavaliers days. Their rivalry continued even after James joined the Los Angeles Lakers. Their matchups have always been intense and gritty. However, their 2016 NBA Finals matchup etched its name in history.
The 2016 NBA Finals saw one of the most significant comebacks in NBA history. Down 3-1, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers made a historic comeback to win the Finals series. In this process, they became the first ever team to achieve this magnificent feat. However, during James and the Cavaliers’ incredible quest, Stephen Curry’s wife, Ayesha Curry had a few words.
She called the NBA “rigged for money” in a furious tweet which she later deleted. However, 7 years after this incident, the Curry family still seem to be taking jabs at James.
In a recent interview, Stephen Curry was asked to name his all time starting 5. He went on to make some intriguing choices. For the point guard position, he excluded himself to name the Los Angeles Lakers legend, Magic Johnson. However, for the small forward position, he interestingly chose another Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant. Bryant, although an undisputed legend in his own regard, traditionally played as a shooting guard.
This peaked the interest of Nick Wright, who questioned Curry’s choice on his show, First Things First.
Nick Wright questions the 9 time All Star’s choice
LeBron James is considered by many as the greatest small forward of all time. The all time scoring leader in the NBA has definitely made a resume strong enough to back those claims. However, Stephen Curry seemed unimpressed.
Curry chose a shooting guard to play the small forward position on his ultimate starting 5, which irked Nick Wright. On his show, Wright went on to strongly question Curry’s choice. “It’s just a bad list,” he opined.

He further added, “Kobe is not a small forward…it’s just a bad list…just don’t make a list if you’re going to make a bad list. There’s only five questions on the test and you fail one of them, that ain’t great,” he strongly claimed.
