The Charlotte Hornets were one of the few teams to make significant moves before the February 8 trade deadline. With LaMelo Ball out of the lineup due to an injury and low chances of getting into the playoffs, the Hornets decided that it was time for a change. They traded their 25-year-old Center, P.J. Washington, to the Dallas Mavericks and acquired hometown boys Grant Williams and Seth Curry.
Seth Curry’s father and Hornets legend, Dell Curry, was hyped about his son playing for his hometown team. Dell revealed how Seth escaped the pain of moving to a new place during the mid-season trade through the Hornets’ move.
“These two guys are making the easiest, seamless trades in the NBA. Grant Williams from Charlotte. Seth, he just moves back into his bedroom in my house,” Dell said. Seth will have no problem settling into his new team because his family has been living in Charlotte since his childhood.

Dell Curry was also excited about Seth wearing the Number 30 jersey on the Hornets. Dell played with the Hornets for 10 years, from 1988 to 1998, and wore number 30 throughout his tenure. So, it will be great to see Seth paying homage to his father by wearing his jersey number.
Seth has not played in the last 5 games, and it is uncertain when he will play his first game for the Hornets. He has played only 35 games this season, averaging 4.4 points and 1.5 rebounds. Seth is a great three-point shooter, and the Hornets can use his shooting to open up their offense. Dell Curry was also excited about getting to spend time with his grandkids now that Seth will be living in Charlotte. “G-Daddy’s about to get some spoiling going on.” He added.

Apart from acquiring Seth Curry, the Hornets added Grant Williams to their lineup. Williams got traded to the Dallas Mavericks last summer following his impressive run with the Boston Celtics. However, Williams did not fit well with Luka Doncic and Co., and the Mavs decided to trade him last night.
He is a solid two-way player and could be a great addition to the Hornets squad. The Hornets also traded their veteran leader Gordon Hayward to the OKC Thunder and acquired Tre Mann, Davis Bertans, and Vasilije Micic in return.

Tre Mann did not get much playing time in OKC and could do wonders for the Hornets in LaMelo’s absence. Davis Bertans is also a solid three-point shooter and will be a great addition to the roster. Micic is a rookie in the NBA but was the 2021 Euro League MVP and could become a locker-room leader for the Hornets with his experience.
