During the 1980s, substance abuse gripped Cleveland and one victim was Minerva, Paul’s mother. Paul’s father, Big Rich, enrolled Paul in a catholic school, away from the neighborhood.
Paul said in the interview, “This was my education, though. This was my Harvard, my Michigans, my Morehouse. And the same thing I learned on this corner, I take it to the boardroom. Because the one thing this teaches you that I don’t think you can learn from those institutions is people, characters”.
