LeBron James and Co. are going head-to-head against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Lakers were still high about their dominant win against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the last game. Anthony Davis played one of his best games this season and put up a 32-point performance to get LeBron a win over his former team. But Joel Embiid and Co. soon brought the Lakers back to Earth as they torched them in tonight’s game. And it was the astonishing performance of veteran forward Marcus Morris and former Lakers guard Patrick Beverley that led to the downfall of the Lakers.

Fans took notice of Beverley and Morris’ shocking surge and slammed LeBron James and Co. for getting torched by Philly’s role players.

76ers guard Patrick Beverley was 3 for 22 from the three-point line before heading into tonight’s game against the Lakers. But he switched gears against his former team and made 3 quick three-pointers to get his team an early lead. Marcus Morris also put up an incredible performance, scoring 11 early points and going 3 of 3 from beyond the arc.

LeBron James and Co. trailed the game by a huge margin after Beverley and Morris’ scoring outburst, and the NBA World slammed the Lakers for getting torched by them. One fan wrote, “Patrick Beverley sending a statement to the Lakers.” The NBA world followed suit.

One fan discredited LeBron James and Co. as Western Conference Contenders after they got cooked by Beverley and Morris.

A fan even compared the veteran players with Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

Patrick Beverley played for the Lakers last season before Rob Pelinka traded him to the Chicago Bulls mid-season. So, Pat Bev was probably out looking for some redemption, and he got that after his incredible performance tonight. Beverley’s 9-point performance might not look like a big deal on paper, but when you compare it to his season average of 2.3 points per game, it is a drastic improvement. Morris is also averaging only 2.7 points this season but went off against the Lakers.

Is Philly a title contender with only 1 superstar?

While most title contenders this season have two or more superstars in their roster, Philadelphia is making things work with just one established superstar. They are being led by reigning MVP Joel Embiid, who is playing at an elite level. He is the current scoring leader, averaging 32.1 points per game.

Tyrese Maxey and the rest of the Sixers squad have stepped up their game after the departure of James Harden. They have been one of the best teams in the NBA with just one superstar, and they might shock the entire world with their performance in the playoffs.
