James Harden is at it again. He was a no-show during practice sessions and an absolute no-no for the final preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks. The Sixers won. Yet we are still on the will-they-won’t-they relationship between Harden and Morey. On the positive side, it is clear that the two were as thick as thieves, and that’s probably what also became their Achilles heel.
By now, all of us are acquainted with The Beard’s reasons for wanting out and Daryl Morey’s stand on the same. Morey’s decision pleased many NBA executives but strained James’s relationship with his once biggest supporter. But this whole drama seems to be getting on the nerves of many NBA veterans.

Kendrick Perkin, former Celtics champion and ex-MVP, has had enough of Harden-Morey drama to last a lifetime. We can’t fault him for doing so either. The team spend each day they practise preparing for the worst. That’s not fair to the other players.
Speaking on ESPN’s NBA Today, Big Perk has made up his mind on what the Sixers should be doing.
“What we need to be reporting is that the 76ers, unless they happen to do a trade, is that they’re sending James Harden home and telling him to stay home, and then worry about just moving forward.”
It is true that the Sixers team members say that they are used to the theatrics accompanying Harden, and it does not bother them anymore. Yet when you look at it objectively, what Harden is putting his teammates through cannot be justified. They come to the gym every day, work out to the max and in comes along Harden at occasional intervals because he does not want to ruin his chances at free agency.

Apparently, when one is subjected to a particular situation for a long time, they become immune to the negative effects. Seems like the Philadelphia 76ers are in a similar circumstance.

The Sixers are prepared to start the regular season without James Harden
Usually, we see countries and states preparing for the worst during political turmoil or internal conflicts. Philly is currently implementing the same methodology as the regular season is starting. Making a game plan with Harden in the lot is asking for too much and Coach Nurse seemed to have drawn a line in the sand regarding the same.
Nick Nurse, reportedly said on Friday to AP, “I think I’ve been preparing for it all this week, for sure. Lots of thought has gone into him not playing and preparing the team that way this summer … we’re going to have to go out play … without (him) until something changes.”
